For all its superficial swagger, it'd be remiss to call Evil West a case of style over substance, because there's a deceptive amount of substance to its combat system and the vibrant world its set in–just the amount you'd want in such a game. It's a good game for a good while, before its relentless pace runs of steam in the final third when repetitive, tiresome battles highlight the limitations of a mostly solid combat system. With the ability to play the entirety of the campaign in co-op however (with appropriately scaled enemies), I wonder whether spreading the relentless heat between two players could actually be the best way to play Evil West, and I plan on finding out soon.

Beware DRM
I'm going to give an extra star for the weapon, gameplay, and in case this is patched later, BUT: When you start, you must be online and agree to something on THEIR SERVERS. I can't tell, it might require GOG Galaxy, too, as it needs to verify your username and such. So what happens if Flying Wild Hog goes belly up? What happens if we can't get to the goddamn server? To hell with this shit, GOG! Next time you pull this, I'm getting my money back! Oh, and you BETTER NOT agree to the second window after signing the agreement - there is a second agreement to give them permission to store information logs and then download info off your computer. I don't care. Playing through and then I'm deleting this. And after the uselessness of Shadow Warrior 3 (which I DID refund), my opinion of FWH is steaming crap. They hit a peak at Shadow Warrior 2, and that's it - goodwill is over.
