Evenicle

Evenicle is a well written, funny, occasionally dark jRPG experience. As an Alicesoft title it's an eroge, and as an Alicesoft title, it has its share of non-consensual content. However it's no Rance - all the bad stuff is the work of the villains here. The game's combat mechanics are fairly decent, functional enough to carry you through roughly 40 hours of the game. Aster and his wives have a wonderfully wholesome, uplifting relationships. The game has beautiful art. I can't say anything good about music, though I've got nothing bad to say either - it's there. Whether you want a jRPG or a wank game - I strongly recommend Evenicle. Here's hoping for the eventual release of Evenicle 2 in the West!

Can't begin to explain how good this game is. First, we got L-Minatsu on music, one of the best composers I've ever heard. The music takes shape and you can feel the passion and emotion in every note. Then you have the main character, Aster. Everyone who plays Alicesoft games know who Rance is, but Aster isn't like that. Aster's looking for love, and he wants to win the hearts of the wives he comes across. I'm almost 40 years old. I've played every single JRPG you can imagine. FF7, FFX, Dragon Age, Xenogears, Chrono Trigger, Xenosaga Trilogy, even all the Persona games. Evenicle is a beautiful game. If you took out all the sex, it would still be amazing. The villains do some horrible things. And that's what makes them scary. A villain isn't a villain without strife. But that's what this game does. It makes you afraid of the villains. This game is a masterpiece and I don't care what anyone says. Beautiful music that sets you in the mood to kick some ass, loving writing hat make you fall for Katherine, Ramius, and Riche... anyone that tells you there's a better eroge is lying. And if you have any doubts, send it to me.. I'll give you my final review. But Alicesoft is hard to beat. I don't want to be biased though. Evenicle at times seems too easy. Evenicle 2 excels in this area, being much more difficult than Evenicle. But still, Evenicle is the S Tier eroge. It is the best eroge I've ever had the pleasure of playing.

I'll be honest, I bought this game for the H content and its art style. I didn't think the story and the simple game play was going to be this fun. It's quite dark for a story and I notice a lot of corruption going on in the game's world. Main character, Aster, builds a wholesome relationship with his growing roster of wives and does what he can to help fight evil. There is some rape in this game, however it's only the villains doing it and you defeat them anyway, so the theme is more about this evil existing and you fight it the best you can. At the time of this review, I'm only entering chapter 3. So far the game has had me captivated because it's actually fun. Putting the eroge part aside, I genuinely enjoy the characters and the dialogue, it's like reading/watching a good anime/manga that is just enjoyable. The sexual content just happens to be a part of the game and is a whole other thing to watch as well.

First off, Evenicle is actually a pretty good JRPG in its own right. I really enjoyed the story about a world following a flawed religion, and seeing the resulting corruption when an entire group starts rejecting its ways. It has really cool characters and cutscenes, and this was actually my favorite aspect of the game, even a hardcore RPG fan will enjoy it. Then...there's the age-restricted side of the game. Let's just say, this isn't a dating sim with soft sex scenes...this is straight up hentai, and pretty hardcore at that. And actually, this makes the sex part a lot less hot, and a lot more extreme WTF. Because if a girl getting ganged up on by a bunch of elephant monsters is your definition of hot, then you're probably beyond help, and everything is like that. It's so over the top that my main reactions were "WTF did I just watch" or laughing my ass of at how far they're willing to go. So if you're looking for an erotic game, let's just say "erotic" isn't the word I'd use for this nonsense xD And lastly, I need to address the snowflakery in some comments about rape. The game doesn't condone rape in any way, rape scenes are only done by the villains, and in fact them being rapists is the reason why you're fighting them in the first place. So about the content warning, you will definitely see every depraved form of sex on the planet in this game, however if you're offended by seeing villains rape a girl before you kick their butt (there's nothing else than that), then you should probably go back to tumblr.

I got curious with the games good ratings and decided to try it, the story was better then expected, nice artwork, lots of the characters where great and you dont need the H parts to still enjoy it.
