Skip this one!

Escape from Monkey Island moved the series away from the classic point-and-click mechanics of the previous games in the series and it wasn't a move for the better! In following the trend at the time, they made the game less enjoyable and more difficult to control. The trademark characters, writing and humour are all there, but the gameplay is clunky and therefore this is my least favourite game of the series. If you're a die-hard Monkey Island fan, and can live with the problems, then you'll probably still enjoy this title.

No remake.

And there's a reason there's no remake and never will be. Because the game just isn't good. The puzzles are tedious and boring and... ugh... monkey combat... THE worst segment in any adventure game EVER. I don't need to go on so I won't. It's just not a good game even though the voice talents from Curse of Monkey Island make an appearance here. It falls short in so many ways.

As awesome as the other MI games

This piece of art has definitely a way too bad reputation compared to the other games in the Monkey Island series. Ok, it's not Monkey Island 3, just live with that. But it still has an extremely comfortable atmosphere that feels very much the same as the other games. The music in MI4 is almost the best of all the games, at least the most catchy music. I totally love MI4 and I'm so happy it's on GOG since it's a pain to get it working on modern systems, if you don't use a virtual machine or something with WinXP installed. There are some lack of details compared to the other ones, but the 3D graphics by then was quite limited. Ignore all the negative feedback and buy this masterpiece!

Do not escape... get this monkey too!!!

If you loved the previous instalments you MUST buy this. And yes, graphics are terrible but story, characters and puzzles are amazing. Do not miss this title!!!
