Solid RPG experience

Great RPG experience and for the current price defo worth it. I felt it was seamless to get in to the game. You learn alot about the lore and world just by following the story and by playing the game. In some similar RPG's i feel like the game world and writing is all over the place and you need to focus alot more to grasp everything thats happening around you. Some thing to mention: + Character creation is not overcomplicated and thats a good thing. + Skill system is easy to grasp. + Love the gritty western scifi atmosphere. + Reputation system + Art style + You can go "kill everybody!" nuts in this game. + Major events/story had voiced dialogue. + Good writing. + Fallout: New Vegas type of survival elements. - Combat could be a bit smoother but it get's the job done. - Some maps are a bit bloated and devoid of life. - A few game characters don't even look close to the ones in their portraits. Example: Game model is dark haired and bronze skinned woman and portrait is a blond haired pale woman. It's just small nitpick but easy to fix. - Some typos on audio to text. Even if there are some flaws in this game ima giving it 5 stars.

No Game, No DLC, No Buy.

Whoever wants to sell DLC for an unfinished product is to completely avoid for that reason alone. No exception, no money from me, never. A pity as it looked promising.

A hopefull glint under the sand

Encased had a lot of thought, effort, and love put into it, and it bleeds through its absolutely grimy and cruel world. I can easily recommend this for turn based strategy and RPG enjoyers The world, enviroment and the music is great pairing with its atmosphere, and its storytelling. Some would say the story tries to copy fallout, or S.T.A.L.K.E.R, but I'd leave a remark on such comments. I'd say that this game is a love letter towards these franchises, and it puts its own ideas inside of it. Yes it DOES build upon these afromentioned brands there are simillarities, but rather than trying to hide it, it shows this on itself like a badge of pride. One must understand when playing this game, that this wasn't made by a tripe AAA + ULTRA studio with infinite funds. It is a love project made possibly by a handful of people who put everything they had into it. I wish I could give this game 5 stars, but there are some glaring issues, mainly with the gameplay itself. PROS! + The game is simple(For a strategy game), understandable, and quick to pick up. The game rewards everything so you don't have to worry about "powerfarming" + The main story for those who read the dialogues is fantastic! + The enviroment, the music is great! It fits everything well, from the clean corpo-megalomaniac sanitized halls, to the endless dunes of lifeless emptiness of the dome! CONS! - The game is AWFULLY SLOW. This game consists of walking to point A to B. Not only that the combat as well is pacing at a handicapped snail. Combat has speed up thankfully, but even then, this game is TOO SLOW. - The game feels unpolished, and in some places, empty. In a BAD way. It is obvious the developers ran out of money, and there are places where the game feels ... off. It is clear they were rushing it by the end, and it did not turn out well for them. - The companion level ups are a joke. They can't be customized, by any means and they are not allowed to do anything. Its' worth trying out!

Great, but bugged

5* actually, but -1 for current bugs. While game is definetly similar to other isometric RPGs, including modern projects, I'd like to point that it has really unique world with detailed backstory. It's like Alpha Centauri to Civilization - while having common base, it feels really different. I really enjoyed the story, graphics are really nice (maxed on i7-4710MQ + Nividia GT870M). Starting Wings are really different and get different reactions from NPCs. Some situations happen with only specific Wings. Wings and skills affect dialogue choices, and there are plenty of them. There is reputation system, but I hadn't seen any effect from it yet. I don't like the sounds... there is something annoying for me in them. Not that I had to turn them off, but can't say they're enjoyable. And... there are bugs. Can't progress story because of them (main quest stuck - tried with several characters, it just doesn't mark weapon testing as complete), some of may characters fell through the floor or got stuck behind objects. Have to wait for a few patches to continue, and that's... not good.

It seems pretty good!

If my first few hours are anything to go by, this is a solid rpg similar to wasteland 2 and 3. I even get a bit of a disco elysium style vibe from some of the visuals, but it's certainly more in the camp of the other games i mentioned. I hear the game had a bit of a bumpy development but it seems quite polished now and I look forward to giving it an intensive playthrough once i've completed another rpg i have on the go! (Yeah it's difficult to keep up these days lol, a nice problem to have though). The game is fairly cheap as well, i think it's well worth the buy.
