Been trying to play this like it should but the game crashes randomly out of nowhere, simply closing and no error message is present. Super frustrating when you are in the middle of a fight or a quest and the game just randomly closes, usually when you attack an enemy or whatever spot you are in the game. Even tried fixing with the "nolighthd" fix added to the games launch options and adjusting swap file but nothing has worked. Save your money and just buy it on steam at this point, you will have better luck than this version.
Now I dont have the latest and most powerful PC, however , I should have been able to pull off a solid 49-60 fps in this game setting it to its lowest settings. NOPE. In many areas it dips down to the teens and is basically unplayable. I have read countless articles that many other users have this same issue even though they have desktops at least twice as fast as mine. Techland takes forever to respond and when they do they are cookie cutter responses "solutions" that dont help at all to only slightly help (that was a *cmd prompt code for the "ultimate performance" power profile for my windows10 OS). I have spent about 9 hours trying to fix this game to no avail...this is the actual reason that I am new here and I hope these guys have better/fair support and/or return policies than $team.
Picked up a bounty that now takes up a quarter of my screen with text. If I cancel the bounty, it sounds like I wont be able to reaquire it.
I've spent more time in forums than actually playing, because like most games, you get the same useless "tips" repeatedly but important info is lacking.
Skip this game, definetley interesting but not worth the frustration and it feels like the story is lost amongst all the DLC.
I've tried several times to play with 2 friends to no avail, every 10-15mins the game will disconnect one of us or the 3 of us simultaneously. Playing a campaign this way is too much hassle so we're waiting on a steam sale to try that platform although we suspect this has something to do with the game, since all 3 of us have strong gaming PCs but we had to lower almost all graphical options to the lowest settings to avoid frequent crashes. We'll try and if not we'll just refund it there.
Even with those graphical changes, the game sometimes freezes our PCs if we switch to another app (Ex, we quickly open discord) or has weird bugs like our mouse pointer appearing, making us need to minimize and reopen the game for it to dissappear. The game is great for single-player (still crashes frequently without the graphical "optimization", but can be stabilized running it in potato settings) but it is poorly optimized and the multiplayer dependability is not there, at all.
Since we're central-american and the nearest GOG is in Canada (as far as I can tell googling), I'll update this review by 2025 letting you know if maybe being connected to an unstable server was causing everything including the crashes, could be because even when I played singleplayer I still had the online availability open, meaning other random players could've connected.
