Good mechanically, bad narratively
So, I was having a lot of fun until a specific moment in the story where you're forced to make a terrible (false) choice that makes no sense in my mind. It even felt like there might be an alternative, but in the end it was just bait to make me feel even worse about myself. I dont reccomend this game, and it is the first game that I put down most of the way through because of the story.

Awesome nod to gothic
If you like gothic, 2D pixelart and celtic settings, get this game.. it needs a little bit to get into it, but its a great game when youre in.... a lovely designed world, a story that started 0815 but gets pretty interesting the more you explore the world, nice characters and hard but fun combat (hard If you do everything already in act one, it gets way easier if you explore with later act-gear...you can explore nearly the whole map from the beginning, youre just limited by your skills in combat) The biggest point for me is the great questdesign, similar to games like oblivion, where even a seemingly unimportant side quest can become a side story for around an hour playtime (Or you just simply avoid it alltogether) The only downsides are, that the world becomes pretty empty if you kill everything at act one already, because nothing really respawns beside some progress spawns and the reward for defeating the secret final boss, which is useless at this point of progress (But its already rewarding to finally down him). Overall this is my first review after hundreds of games but i feel like this game deserves it.

Great Gothic vibes, but very accessible
Great little gem, came out of the nowhere. As many mentioned here, has strong Gothic vibes. Great world-building, where exploration is limited by your characters level and items. Great progression overall, solid narrative. Got sucked into it, Chapter 2 right now and still going strong.

Great RPG
Awesome! Must play for an RPG fan. Pros: - really nice pixel art - very immersive - it rewards exploration - great combat system, very versatile you can choose any combat style you want and it will be good - a lot of quests - no quest markers etc. you are on your own and that's great, you even have to buy a worldmap Cons: - main story could have a little bit better writing especially in the end - it could have a little more side quests in later chapters 9/10

Truly a great game!
A great rpg with lots of love to detail, that rewards exploration and makes you use your brain instead of blindly following quest markers.
