Dread Templar is a fun first-person shooter that will appeal to anyone who enjoyed the classic titles in the genre or the recent 2016 Doom reboot. It delivers over-the-top violence and classic combat sequences but also introduces more modern ideas, like the ability to slow down time when swamped by a ton of opponents.

Dread Templar is a good example of a solid boomer shooter. It's fast, the enemies are dumb yet formidable, and the level design begs for exploration. The upgrade system is quite nice but doesn't show off its capabilities until you get further into the game. Weapon types are fine until you get them really powered up. While some things are a bit unfair, with explosions reaching far beyond their intended range and enemies refusing to drop ammo, Dread Templar remains an adrenaline-pumping experience that you'll return to - as long as you aren't expecting anything revolutionary.

With a load of fun weapons to use and frontloaded with creative levels, Dread Templar is a game with a few flaws -- like its relatively repetitive final two acts -- but nothing that detracts from having an action-packed, bloody good time.

Starts out strong, but gets worse

It's pretty good for about 75% of the length, but past that, it definitely overstays its welcome as it recycles the same enemies with literally just a different color, the level design gets progressively worse both in terms of gameplay and visual design and it gets topped of by a crap final bossfight where the arena is literally just a cube with invisible walls because making visible barriers was too much effort at that point I guess.

this takes me back to the shadow warrior reboot and i love that game. only issua i had is the voice acting is bad.

Fun Old School FPS

This has been a fun ride so far. Fun old school Shooter with it's own unique weapons and enemies. It's nice to see something like this out there and I hope we see more like it in the future!

Arghhh

The enemies have no physical presence, you can and do run through them in combat all the time. Ohh and if you weapon is inside the enemy YOU CAN'T HARM IT. JANKY
