Dragon Age™: Origins - Ultimate Edition

I purchased this when it came out, in fact I pre ordered it. It took longer to come out than most games but well worth the wait. The Characters within the game whether they can join with you or not are hold your attention and the the NPCs you have join you have some great onliner's with the party members, some get along some don't. They keep me laughing throughout the game. Each Party member has their own story and quest to embark upon which adds even more to the game. You can even have romance between your character and anyone of them depending on how much of a friend you become and you can even under the right circumstances marry Allister. Character creation was fair could have been better but I have seen much worse even by todays standards. Leveling up takes some getting used to for its a bit different than the usual RPG of its time but, you have more customization with Dragon age in this area so is a win. Story: Well done keeps you going though out the game at least for me I wanted to get to the end so I could see how it was going to end. There is more than one ending possible depending on your choices though out the game. That is all I can say without spoiling it. Bottom Line: If you are looking for an RPG that will keep you busy for more than 5 minutes and has replay value look no further. Not only is the story long but the additional DLC included here will keep you busy for a very long time. I have over the years replayed this game so many times with different combos of characters I have lost count. Your choices count so different things happen within the game depending on Race, Class, Romance and other choices your character makes. My only hope is that if we have bought this game already we can get have a free copy here like with the Witcher Series and some Steam games.

This is the last RPG Bioware did before EA took over. In many ways this is the last Bioware CRPG. It's great win for GoG to get the ultimate edition, of the best Dragon Age (IMO). After this it is a lot more like console games, and a lot more EA like behavior. You play DAO for the story. Which is engrossing. You get 6 unique origin stories. Play them all. They are the best way to get background on this new setting. I have never seen a game give this kind of heavily scripted/voiced with so many unique origins. Playing all the origins was one of my favorite parts of the game. After about the first hour, the stories all converge, but there will be interactions that relate back to witch origin you played through, but not enough IMO, to give it much replay value, to repeat play unless you have a lot of time on your hands. Still Between just doing the 6 origins, and just one play through, I was over 100 hours. That didn't even include all the DLC adventures in the ultimate pkg. Really I consider this a must buy for Bioware and most RPG fans. Now some issues: The New RPG system: Feels thrown together. There is no balance, it's kind of simplistic, no multi-classing, few classes. There really isn't much variation. In NWN/NWN2 I was forever trying out new build combos. Here there really doesn't feel like a point. Buggy: There are day one mechanical/story bugs that are well documented. Since being taken over by EA, Bug fixing shipped products is very much deprecated. Save often. Old Bioware was quite a bit better at this. CD Projekt Red is better yet. No Third Party Adventures: While I might spend >100 hours on DAO, I have spent over 1000 hours on NWN, and somewhat lesser, but still hundreds on NWN2. They have rich communities of third party adventures. It's not perfect, But at this price for the DRM free, Ultimate package, it is a Must Buy for just about any RPG fan IMO.

First of all, the bozos rating this game low and crying that "muh game not workz." Stop playing this on that little potato beer can of yours. Second, this is a drm free site, idk how any of you imbeciles can even complain. 10/10, it's the owner's fault, not the game.

Back in 2010, I watched a few of my friends and classmates playing this game. For some reasons, I never had the opportunity to try it. I just purchased the game a few minutes ago and so far, I really love it. It reminds me so much of the Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale series. This is probably one of my best purchases of the year.

This was the first RPG where I didn't know notice the time I'd spend on it. Every mission had to be completed so I could go into the next. Storyline is very immersive and while the graphics might be a little dated, I hardly notice. While I loved playing on the PC, I'm hoping this will come out for the Mac as well!
