Doom 3 is a 2004 horror first-person shooter video game,
Doom 3 has the best plasma cannon of any Doom game before or after it. The way these weapons impact on enemies is also rewarding as the gore in Doom 3 finds the perfect line between over the top and just right
It's really a great game. I'd give 5 stars, but I miss russian localization from 1C Company which actually was in vanilla game and was perfect. Shame it couldn't make in to BFG Edition.
Couldn't wait for DRM-free editions of DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal. It's really welcome here. Microsoft C'MON, you can do this!
I love this game unapologetically. The shift from fast pace to horror in darkness really makes this game stand out, theres a certain eeriness to it i cant explain but its dark, and i fucking love it.
nice to play gain the parts 1+2. All 3games runs good without any problems. Played all 3 games at release and it still makes fun after all these years. for that price you re doing nothing wrong.
having experienced Doom 3, I feel like sharing my thought regarding that game (not the version, mind you).
First and foremost- this game is different from Doom 1, Doom 2, and our latest release, Doom 2016. The reason for it is the atmosphere that follows an actual story that is fleshed out much more than with previous titles.
So who could benefit from this game? People that like to be driven by story, rather than pure gameplay (which is not bad, mind you).
Of course, the story itself is nothing close to a masterpiece, but it's enjoyable and respects the original idea. It settled on a much darker tone and tries to emphasize the horror aspects. It all goes to s*&% when you got such a barrage of weapons, but kudos for trying something new.
Gameplay-wise, it's a solid experience as well. Maybe not as well-executed as other titles that got released around the same time (half-life 2, far cry), but still enjoyable.
Pick it up. It pays plenty of respects to the original game and tries something new at the same time.
