Great game, especially the first chapter, it does get a little bit slow in the mid-game, but the variety of strategies and the ability to respec to try them out kept it interesting for me. A decent story spiced up by great dialogue, humour and fantastic voice acting. One of the best RPGs out there.
I have this game in other account. detailed terrain design, beautiful sound score and the detail on the characters it´s amazing. You should take your time choosing your class and settings for these will shape your gameplay for sure. Finished once and started a new game with another character, I´m still finding new stuff.
Sometimes a game comes out of early access and just faceplants into the ground. Larian Studios has managed TWICE now to avoid that problem.
The Original Sin entries into the Divinity franchise have both been excellent isometric CRPGs, both Kickstarted in excess of their original goals, and both times meeting and exceeding expectations for a rather small studio based out of Germany. The characters, while not as personable to my tastes this go-around, are still well-written and casted to type, combat has been improved in small ways (the first DOS already had speedy, tactics-centric fights), and overall the game looks slick as hell for a KS game. Haven't tried out the new four-player co-op, but given how stable and fun the original's was, I'm sure it's no slouch in that department either.
My only complaints are that the game doesn't seem to give you much of a direction in the beginning, and early on its easy to get party wiped by even a single enemy that's one level above yours. This game does NOT fool around with requiring tactical thinking and using the environment against you, although some enemies seem to be absolutely psychic about your party's weaknesses, which is annoying when you might or might not know theirs.
Overall, I bought this for the original asking price of 45$, and aside from a few hiccups I've not been disappointed yet. Its a great addition to any western RPG fan's collection.
Possibly the greatest rpg ever created. Original sin 1 was amazing and the sequel improved upon it in every single way.
+ story, characters, writing and especially narration
+ meaningful choices and multiple endings
+ amazing tactical combat that encourages your imagination to solve situations in creative and often hilarious ways
+ visuals
+ music
+ HUGE replayability
- Sound issues and framerate issues
Overall 10/10 no matter the constant framerate and sound issues i experienced from act 2 and on i cant give this game any less than a 10. Its not just incredibly fun and creative but also very challenging and rewarding
I'm at the end of my 2nd run with 170 hours on the clock. Apsolute masterpiece without any exception. Been a rpg lover for over 20 years, played majority of classic RPG like BG, NVN, DA:O, Planescape Torment all the way to new ones, POE and ofc The Witcher. If you are a true RPG lover these game is a blessing, really looking forward to BG3 after this (altough not liking the styling of new BG but after this, I'm sure it's gonna be great!)
