Fan of the first game
This game is slowly getting up to par with the old game. Its not bad, its just taking time to catch up with the first one.

Really interesting game, which isn't too difficult to understand. Very easy to play through slowly and has a lot of replayability unlike some games in the genre

Great but incredibly niche....
As someone who spent hundreds of hours playing DW Universe it's fantastic, with upgraded graphics, new technologies, and deeper faction exploration. Overall a solid improvement in every way. However updates are drip fed to you, and the games clearly not completely finished, with the economy bugging out lategame on all my recent playthroughs.

Best 4X ever made
Finally a game where you get to use boarding pods and everything else you can think of. The automation feature really cuts out late game grind.
