Definitely not a masterpiece
With the best of intentions, I cannot understand the many positive reviews for Disco Elysium. I don't like this game at all. If this game has aroused your interest, then read the one-star ratings here beforehand. For me, this was an absolute bad buy. Don't waste your money on this game.

I can see why journos salivate over this game.
It's communist propaganda, there's no gameplay to speak of, and the writing feels like the inner monologue of a redditor. My favorite part of the game was when I told another character that I don't support communism and was immediately labeled a fascist. The game then proceeded to tell me that fascism means that you hate women and want them wiped from the face of the earth. What?! LOL! You can't make this stuff up. No doubt there will be people who claim that this entire game is satire and attacks all ideologies equally but to those people I ask you this. Do you really believe that a developer who thanked Karl Marx for their "education" during a video game award show really has the ability to make a game that doesn't push an agenda? The only reason you should ever play this game is to laugh at the cringey politics of the dev team. Just make sure that you don't buy said product though, remember the devs are communists and therefore don't believe in personal property!

It's well written but not without issues
Some would say, that I just didn't play it the right way or that I'm too dumb too play it (or in general) But I'm pretty sure that the game didn't communicate, that you cannot progress further unless you slip in the hotel. Yeah, characters say that a detective shouldn't sleep on the street, but it sounded more like a suggestion. If you didn't ask a character for money (or where to get them) the dialog option may just disappear the next time you speak to them. You can't sleep outside. There is a bench next to a hotel where you can skip time, but after 9pm your character is like "Nah, not doing that". Want to re-read the same book until morning or talk to people? Also not allowed. at 2pm clocks just freeze. Therefore I deadlocked myself of the second day without any way out of it. Again, I understand that it's not an issue for every player, but I was very frustrating for me. So, I'm done.

This over rated slog of a game sucks!!!
After several hours of reading, and reading, and reading.... does anything eventually happen??? What a waste of time and money!!
