Unfun RNG, not enough story
The characters and story are thin, very thin. Enemies have some sort of backstory but only through randomly occurring dialogue after beating them (10% or so), and that's it. I could forgive that if the gameplay is interesting, but it's not. After beating a round the you have to spin a wheel for your reward, which is always nothing as the wheel is rigged. Humorous after 1 or 2 times, but not if you're meant to see the same old gag over 40+ times. Gameplay wise it's all luck, and multiple levels at that. You could get or lose the wrong items at the wrong time. The wrong enemies can appear. You can just roll poorly. Winning often felt undeserved and losing rarely felt like it was your fault. Some enemies have weaknesses that are loudly spelled out before a fight, but unless you lucked into having gear that works (you rarely can have multiple equipment 'builds' in a run, you usually have whatever you picked up) it's just unactionable. To it's credit there are interesting equipment combinations and the characters spice up the gameplay, but there is very little content once you've played through each character once, and you're expected to do so 6 times (assuming you don't ever lose).
