I sat in town a good five minutes simply soaking up the soundtrack. Decades later, Tristram is still one of the greatest themes in gaming history, and it sets the tone for what you will encounter once you begin dungeon crawling. This is atmospheric, old school gaming at its finest. High quality sound design and soundtrack combine to create a tingling of dread and foreboding around every corner. Exploring the Cathedral elicits the same sense of oppressive, near tangible evil as it first did all those years ago. The point and click gameplay is simple, yet still sound. The loot no longer feels as fancy, yet still satisfies the need for rewarding drops. Buy this game, and remember just why you fell in love with this franchise.

So after all the time waiting for a new classic jewel we got one from Blizzard. - If you still complain about the price or having not Hellfire, you just don´t know how difficult is to implement a long time forgotten expansion, even for blizzard. - If you still complain about the price, you are underestimating GOG work here, or the quality of an old jewel. - If you still complain about game mechanics, you are definitively not into classics, so why you do? Still the game is much better than many new ARPGs. Diablo was the beginning of actual ARPGs, Blizzard allows us to play Diablo 2 (And probably soon an HD version of it) plus Diablo 3 in several platforms. We couldn´t have until now, the TRILOGY on digital, it even works ONLINE you can just find some nice pals, time for it and complete the whole TRILOGY in cooperative mode. Thanks GOG for help us to complete this great trilogy on digital.

GOG.com fans have waited for this one for a long time, and they won't be disappointed.

This port is perfect, it's like stepping back into the Win98 days. Everything is just as I remember it and best of all, this runs on modern hardware with no issue. I've sunk so many hours into this already. I can't wait to run a LAN party with my friends/family! As a note: it does not include the Hellfire Expansion, but I didn't expect it to as that wasn't an official release. Regardless, you need to pick this up! NO DRM ON GOG! Things couldn't get any better! I hope this does well enough that we see more early Blizzard games on GOG or even more cult 90's classics! LOVE IT!
