Cant believe I got this for free
Such a good indie game, nice ideas, nice concept, great soundtrack and voiceover. Really scratch the Deus ex itch, may we have a DEX 2 please ?

overall very enjoyable, good value
I picked this for 1.5 Euros and really enjoyed this, took me about 25 hours for all missions and reading almost all dialogues, the hand drawn style was very to my liking, music was fitting and excellent. It has a few flaws like although the platform elements are there throughout the game they are a bit repetitive and rather simple in design, do not expect jump & run and timings to be the central element of the game. Rarely I fell to death because I did not know is this the end of the map or a new area, you can simply save when in doubt and reload of course. Balancing could be better here and there i guess but since there are many ways to combat and skilling and only very limited difficulty options you can use that to adjust difficulty. Writing and characters and especially the voice acting are well done, some stereotypes, humor is present here and there but overall the cyberounk future (again) seems to be a serious matter. And your choices matter as it should be (although I think many do not), many quests can be solved in different ways. One way to replay this at higher difficulty could be to limit the amount of side quests. I liked the ethical decision making at the end of the game, as others have said one ending cut scene is a bit of letdown. Overall very good value for the money, certainly worth it if you can get it below 10 Euros

Enjoyable Cyberpunk Game, Lack Flesh Out
Dex is kind of DeusEx but 2D side view platformer. In an "open world" zone-devided map with varied themes, you lead the female protagonist Dex through the main story ark or side quests. As you progress, there is a skilltree, an inventory and upgrades to be managed. In the first 5-10 minutes, you have to overcome the steep learning curve to master the keyboard + mouse controls. But the games does a good job to help you through an it will be a smooth sailing from then on. Soundtrack is epic, great voice acting, good atmospheric background sound.. Story is interesting and kept me playing the game, that turned out to be longer than expected. Buuuut...I had always the impression, that the game is not finished yet in case of content. - There are only a few interactable characters. - Lack of free choice. For example: you are forced to upgrade Dex to progress. - Optically the game is ok, but there could be more animated gfx. - Especially the cutscenes where very short. - Here and there you notice, that a final polish would improve the game. Overall the flaws have only a minor impact on the game and it was worth the time.

Deus Ex meets Duke Nukem 1?
"Dex" plays quite a bit like an old platform shooter, albeit with a lot more sophistication and adult dialogue. The world is detailed and interesting, especially for a platformer, and it has all the feel of classic cyberpunk. I wouldn't call it groundbreaking, but it doesn't feel like an attempt to break new ground so much as to tell a story. That it does well: the artwork is superb, the voicing is expressive and thorough, and the characters are sympathetic. Complaints have been voiced about the combat elements of the game. I found the combat challenging but not overwhelming. Like the Deus Ex series, this is not a game for people who want to go in guns blazing or beating the crap out of everybody. The character Dex is a relatively young woman, not Sylvester Stallone; she isn't designed to overpower her enemies. Play it accordingly and both the shooting and the hand-to-hand combat make sense. "Dex" won't be everybody's favorite--cyberpunk titles tend to be very polarizing--but it plays its strengths well and doesn't overreach.

Really enjoyed this game. Very well written. Fun, balanced. Played on old 2013 MacBook. Pure pleasure
