Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition

If you had to refund DMC4SE on Steam like I did, because the game refused to boot (even after you downloaded a hex editor to try and fix the issue yourself), you'll be glad to hear - based on my testing - the GOG release does not have this problem. I'll go out on a limb and say this is the definitive way to play DMC4SE, now and forever. WORD OF ADVICE: The DLC is NOT part of the DMC bundle or the standalone game. The only content you should buy is the Trish & Lady costume pack; everything else is optional microtransaction/Early Unlock garbage.

Excellent game, runs perfectly on modern systems. Very fun and action-packed, with lots of laughs thanks to Dante and nero. If you like killing demons, this is your game.

Good port of the game but I can be better. It needs a few patches, in order for it to be great.

I had to request a refund for this game since it wouldn’t launch. We really appreciate GOG Galaxy in all that they do, but this kind of goes against the goals of your GOG preservation program. It shouldn’t be necessary for me to adjust settings or perform troubleshooting steps provided by GOG or search through pcgaming wiki for solutions, especially when I was assured this game would work perfectly. I’m optimistic that you can resolve this issue soon!

I've been playing for a few hours, and the game didn't show any major issues compared to the Steam version. It has the same functionality and resource usage. For some reason, it detected my previous Steam installation and loaded my progress. The game is amazing, just like 15 years ago.
