Desperados 2 GOG version is awesome!!!
Ive played Desperados 2 on steam and now i regret buying it there.The gog version is updated,no bugs or glitches,glorius widescreen.Thx Gog for the nice support. I recommend this game to everybody that loves the Desperados franchise.

Desperados 2: cooper's... regret
desperados 1 is one of the best games I ever played. But this game is an offence to the first. Bugs everywhere, bad attempt of real 3d environment, stupid AI, weird fps parts. Play the first one instead, only buy this if you loved the first one and want to know how things went on.

Good but lacking
The first one was a true gem. This sequel was fun but on the technical standpoint, it's flawed. I don't want to spoil the story, but if you really really liked the first one you can chugger through this sequel without too much disappointment. I would recommend you buy it but if you haven't got the first one, go out and buy that one first.

Could do better alas
In the same spirit as Commandos, Desperados 2 is a tactical game with a special feature : the permutation from a tactical view to a subjective 3D one. The idea is interesting, and the concept works... almost. From the tactical view, many times your character will remain blocked because of a tree or a rock he obstinately stupid to not want around . This is quite annoying because it sometimes if you would do a double and triple action simultaneously, you can't because one of your characters is behind an invisible barrier! Of course, the 3D view overcomes a major problem: the path-finding bugs but it wasn't its main objective. Fortunately the story without being exceptional is very nice and catchy. You want to know more about the quest. The western atmosphere is very well done, with most of the clichés of the genre. The characters are caricatures but unsurprisingly we soon learn to appreciate them. I regret that the game suffers from a lack of optimization because even with a powerful hardware configuration, the game is sometimes slow . It's a pity because this game would have been great if it had been worked more seriously. PROS : * The western atmosphere * Charismatic characters * A simple but pleasant and varied scenario CONS : * The game is buggy , too buggy * The path-finding * Seems to be not optimized for multiple cores

Unworthy successor
Gameplaywise Desperados 2 seems like the first Desperados or Commandos but it feels like an unfinished early alpha or early access. Pros: + music (spaghetti western style) Cons: - view-cones on win10 not working - graphical stuttering in 3D view - crashes on win10 - bad controls (incosistent 3D and iso-view controls) - voiceacting cringeworthy - bad story presentation
