Is this the Reanimated version or not? Please make some updates about this game or let us know somebody if it is the new version. It should be mentioned in the description! Thanks
This game is horrible, plain and simple. You have zero strategic choices. The ap cost to simply move is absurd and the enemy always seem to have way more moves point than you.The game is also fairly ugly. I was hopping that at least it would be one of those games where you quickly get in and out without too much thinking to do, like the flash game dead city, but nope, even this they messed up with a convoluted interface that takes a eternity to navigate. Do not buy this game it's simply a mediocre game that rely on the zombie and xcom trends to catch unwary customers.
This game is somewhat difficult and indeed once it lets you off...it lets you OFF! You start off.. (SPOILER)
(..as a survivor of a plane crash.) From their you are introduced to your crew then you learn the basics of the game where to find material, how to fight and how to upgrade and maintain the shelter. However after that you are left on your own.
I must say though even the tutorial is not that easy, especially with the human opponents, which have firearms. Like others have said these attract the undead because of the noise they make. Not only is this a problem buy you also must deal with the fact that these opponents have guns and not melee weapons making the game harder.
After the tutorial is over you have the locations that you visited before which you can always visit again if you want. I did a couple of times to get some extra items that I have missed. But you also must travel around to find new locations to stock up on new supplies. This is not bad except that there is lets say a time to do it in. You must get back to your shelter before a certain time at night.
Hiking the difficulty even more up.
Like others have said this game is hard, I have already lost 1 team member and I am just beginning.
Oh and the bugs....well so far I have see one. A zombie walking into another zombie and taking his place. 2 zombies in one place fighting me like they are one combined unit. Hmmm. Super Zombie?
All in all this game is alright. I would give it a 3 out of 5 or 60%.
After seeing this on early access, playing it is real fun. To survive the Zombie Armageddon you must use not just tactics to defeat the horde of zombies but also manage your group of people in the sactuary of Splendid School.
This survival RPG will take you weeks too explore. And the developers will add content in due time, now they are fixing minor bugs.
@Gog: Isnt there a newer patch available then 1.00.48?
...only it's not.
This game might have had its time 20 years ago, but for a 2014 release it is appaling. The graphics honestly look like straight from "The Sims 2". The sound design is borderline inexcusable - playing the same gargling zombie sounds over and over.
Combat is a slog... especially when there are more than two enemies somehow the game manages to take forever calculating them doing a single attack or passing their turn. There's also no tactical desicion making to speak of. You are standing around clobbering at each other. In slow turn-based style.
Also, there are zero quality of life tweaks. For example to exchange an item between party members, one of them has to walk to the other and go right-click-backpack. Your stash at the base is an actual shelf in one of the rooms you have to walk to in order to equip anything.
It's really a shame because you can tell there is a great game somewhere beneath the all this. I just can't get myself two spend the time needed to get there. Still, one star for what might have been.
