Ignore Negative Reviews

This game is a masterpiece and a must play for any gamer, as for the negative reviews.... remember this is GoG and most games need some tweaking anyway due to age, this one is no different, it's from 2008 no less and many PC related things have changed but any regular customer of GoG will get this running just fine with no problems, (pcgamingwiki is your best friend) if you are afraid of tweaking games maybe GoG is not for you and Steam will gladly hold your hand for a price and your soul. If you have never played this then you are missing a huge part of gaming history, the original Dead Space commercials on TV were legend and many people were too terrified to play this back then. As for the infamous Asteroid mini-game issue, just use a mouse or X-Box controller at that point (if your not already) and it's so easy it's actually fun.

An absolute model of it's kind

Space and horror. The atmosphere and specialy the prodigious sound ambiance. The sound atmosphere, may be the most terrifying, playing late in the night. I'd never felt so alone, so far away from everythingl and so definitly lost where no one will never come again. what an experience I'm really not an horror game fan but THIS game is probably my favorite game ever.

Survival horror is what this is

It did not take long for me to get hooked on Dead Space. The game will grad you instantly and pull you in to your new nightmare. The horror theme is done very right and the action fits in well. Weapons are powerful in both the way they look and the way they sound, and using them is very pleasing. Seeing monsters' limbs separate from their bodies ... in slow motion ... just seconds before they were about to cut your head off. So sweet! Some years have passed since I played it the first time but I remember being very impressed by the graphics and voice acting and character movements. Some places were so beautiful I ended up standing there just looking at it. The way the camera is positioned was new to me and that took some time to get used to. The one thing that bothered me the most was the mouse sensitivity or acceleration. You could tweak one of them but not the other, resulting in some weird mouse movements (and your death) when you need to be fast at moving and quick on the trigger. Overall, Dead Space = highly recommended.

The perfect Cosmic Horror game.

There is nothing wrong with the game. The game is perfect. People want it to be optimized for their new Xbox-controller and other BS... Maybe the remake will make them happy (probably NOT) The mouse sensitivity is a bit slow for 2022, just turn mouse sensitivity to the max when you use keyboard and mouse. The Asteroid-mini-game has always been a pain in the neck so don't play the game on hardcore when you play it the first time. The game is perfect <3

Best Space Horror game up to Date!

I'm a fan of outer Space horror SiFi and Dead Space hits that perfectly. If you like Books of H.P.Lovecraft or Films like Event Horizon you will love Dead Space. There are already good reviews so I just wanted to add that there is a MOUSE ACCELERATION PATCH on PCGamingWiki.com for Dead Space if you have problems with keyboard/mouse
