There is no opt-out Unless I missed that part, these things need to be disclosed prior to purchse with a Logo or something recognizable that a game needs your dripfeed! I have blocked the game with my firewall. Apart from that it is very good PC port and playable. The graphics do show their age, though, but still good.

Spyware/Data collection
This game will ask you to consent to getting your data harvested, data way beyond your use of the game. There is no option to not allow this. Helpful reviews from Horizon Zero Dawn highlighted this and that is why I did not purchase it on sale, so I am adding it here for those who did not know the same is happening here.

Do not trust my review.
This is the third time I have bought this game: clearly I am biased. Do I like Zombie games: meh, they are fine. Am I into biker culture: flat no. But you put the two together, with an unrepentantly bitter protagonist, and I can't get enough of it ... Which is also my only major complaint: there is not enough of it, and with no DLC after 2 years + Sony rejecting the pitch for a sequel; there never will be. with that said, take your time with this game so that you can make it last & do not rush to clear out every hoard nest (it causes them to not respawn & that greatly diminishes a lot of the game's charm ... something that probably should have been ironed out before launch, but it isn't game breaking).

Fantastic Ride!
Played through on PS5 and PC(Steam).. love this game. Plenty of content as well. Might take a couple hours to really get going but it is worth it to stick with it. Will likely start over here on GOG and play again, can not wait!

Days Gone 2 please
This game has a slow start and it doesn't handhold the player like some other games. The real excitement begins after the prologue, when you meet Obrian and arrive at Lost-Lake. Unlike some games that can become tedious, the more you play Days Gone, the more you enjoy it. What sets it apart from other games is its accurate portrayal of motorcycle behavior. I own a 2016 BMW scrambler, and the bike in the game feels just like it, especially off-road. The game captures the gravity perfectly, and the gear shifts and clutch work of the character are spot-on. I also loved the fuel economy system; you really need to ease up on descents to save gas. In my opinion, Days Gone offers the best off-road motorcycle physics of any video game. I've platinumed it, but I still play just to enjoy the bike rides amidst the guitar background music, stunning landscapes, and chasing hordes. Despite its commercial success and love from many players, the cancellation of its sequel due to a few negative reviews feels tragic. Days Gone is more than a game; it's an experience. If, like me, you passed on it due to some reviews, you really should give it a shot.
