Do not believe negative reviews...
resident evil is going to be in your mind at the 3rd hour of gameplay but i appreciated the unreal engine 4 graphic and physics even if it was a little badly optimized. (pc get hella hot) it felt like another pharmaceutical company was trying to enhance the physical and braining possibilities of normal human state. as a resident evil lover this is a good story. not original but good

A labor of love by dedicated fans of RE
Just remember that this game was the unofficial Resident Evil 2 Remake before Capcom invited them over to their offices and revealed their own remake in development. Daymare is the result of them having to rework all their assets and hard work into an original IP.

What a great susrprise
Invader Studios take the formula of old RE games and make them own game. For me, with a interesting story, the gameplay is fun, they added some unique mecanics whiches add more inmersive, the gunplay is great, the puzzles are original, the humor is from 90s with a lot of references, there're secrets, files, audios. I'm excited to know there is a new game, which talk about the past references whiches appears in this game. Definetly when I'll have sometime I'll buy the new game.

Better than expected
Perhaps normally too pricey, but I bought it on sale for $3, definitely worth that price, or more, but two hours into it I'd probably have paid $10 or $15 and still felt good about the purchase. Story wise, It is quite cheesey with the dialogue, I think it is intentional, and it makes me laugh. It definitely reminds me of late 90s horror survival games, yet I'm still invested in the story. I recommend the highest difficulty or it may feel a bit like a cheap shooter game. Otherwise I've had a few "oh F&$K" moments. The combat is fair and rewarding for good aim, and reaction. If you go in with a love of 90s horror survival, and low expectations like I did you'll definitely enjoy it. I would still buy it on sale personally. The only thing that really drags the game down for me, even as a puzzle lover, is that the puzzles are a little confusing and at the same time simple.

Homage to the classic style
This game is an homage to how survival horror used to be, slower paced with combat that is on a more difficult level. The puzzles are not that tricky, unless you count having to use ancient greek letters then that is trickier. Though a game that makes you use your head and tests your wits, TBH it's a nice pace from actiony shooter games posing as survival horror. Story is well written and feels like it flows generically, it actually has some interest for me and feels like people who could actually write made it. Yes it is basically resident evil with different names and characters, but so what it's actually a challenge especially if you play through first to start on normal like it should be. So as it is so far the story paces itself well and seems solid. Graphics are not that bad, their smooth and clean and actually visually crisp and legible. So honestly I give them some props for doing well with the Unreal Engine. Overall it feels like it's a solid game with appeal to old school survival horror players, if you like your bang bang shooty shooty survival horror this is not for you. Have not tried modern style, but I like it old school. Honestly many of these negative reviews do not appreciate the charm of an old school type game, still make up your own mind and give it a playthrough and actually go in with an open mind. Original ideas are rare, so many games will always recycle some aspects of other games.
