Dumb and terribly thought out game.
Allocating humans for tasks is done at random by the game. Theres no way to select who does what job. You can't have a hunting party. Anyone with a stick will go out hunting. The first one to show up will attack and the animal will either run away or attack and your human will die while the rest of the hunting party is walking their way to the hunt. The Ai doesn't wait for the rest of the party to arrive and surround or bait the pack of animals. You might have 5-7 animals in a pack and maybe get 3 or 4 because once the hunters kill one animal they don't continue hunting the rest. They either just leave or begin cutting up the animal or the animals have runaway. Humans will chase the animal across rivers, up mountains and they get depressed, tired and hungry. I've had humans die from starvation on their way back from a hunt because of how far they ran after it. If you have a hunting zone, they don't attack the bigger and meaner animals which can leave your camp starving to death, so you have to hunt the bears and boars manually. They only hunt smaller animals. By the time they get their shit together the animals are on the other side of the lake. As you build up your camp, the animals move further away and hunting further out leaves your humans sad, hungry and tired. They don't take supplies with them, they don't set up camp, they don't track animals, they don't leave any bait. You have farms and stables for small animals which is fine but lame and not enough. I tried setting up a hunting camp which consists of two huts, camp fire, totem pole, supply thing, walls and watch tower to protect against bandits and wood pile. This was a huge drain on resources and totally unpractical. But I need these things because as I venture further out to hunt, my hunters need a place to eat, sleep and pray otherwise its a death march back to town. As for historical accuracy, I find it hard to believe that our ancestors would be this dumb.
