Intense space combat!

I like the idea of an alien spaceship, that starts out as a small insignificant shuttle, but then depending on the choices of uppgrades by the player can become an awesome devastatingly efficient battleship! Or a very big cargoship... or a stealthy rogue ship. Or something in the middle, as a mix of everything. In the end, it´s all up to the player to decide what kind of ship it becomes. The game itself is both fun, addictive and engaging and the singelplayer story keeps the game focused, so it doesn´t get boring, but also stays fun. =)

Old Classic

I never played this game until now, though I had it back in the days. Well I started it then, but really played for about 30 minutes. NOW, some 15 years later (I don't know exactly when it came out), I like this game. It is more story driven then a pure open world sandbox game like elite dangerous, and by far less complex and such, but you have some liberty to do what you want. You can trade, bounty hunt etc. or be the bad guy. But I like, that it is more focused around a story, then beeing pure, "FIND YOUR OWN ADVENTURE". Don't get me wrong, YOU DO have liberties and are not forced to do things in a linear way, AND YOU DECIDE when to progress the story. MORE OR LESS at least. If you are looking for such a game, then have fun with it. IF you are looking for an elite dangerous like game, then don't. I recommend this game to anyone who loves space adventures.

Move along, nothing to see here.

This game is under-appreciated for a good reason. While playable, and fully functional, everything else about it is painfully cumbersome. Other than poor mechanics, it also got a non-likable protagonist, useless tag-along female lead, and an all out dumb plot. Bought this game while in discount, but still, felt like a waste. So move along people, nothing to see here. While moving away from this disaster of a game, remember to pick up Freespace1/2 up on the way out. Now that's a timeless flight-sim.

Grind

I played this game first on the PC then on the Xbox 360. Playability was good on the xbox, but the game is a long grind. It is a shooter not as much exploring game. I like that the game has one ship (you can focus on the upgrades instead of the best ship), but I also dislike that. The upgrades are all locked in to exact values and if you don't get the upgrades just right (I didn't) you will miss out on a few achievement points and you really don't want to re-play to go back and get them. It left me feeling unhappy with the final game.
