Nice addition but not really fair value
This DLC adds two new classes to your pool of heroes: the Duelist is playable from the start but if you're new to the game you should probably rather stick to your default party. She tries to do many things but in such a complicated way that I get a headache whenever I attempt to read her ability tooltips. So far I'm not a huge fan, although her backstory is interesting at least. Then there is the Crusader which you have to unlock first by completing a few consecutive ingame tasks. While those aren't too difficult it isn't immediately obvious what to do at each step either. Once unlocked, the crusader starts out rather unspectacular as a front-line damage dealer but gets tanking and even healing abilities once you uncover his tragic past. His full toolkit is pretty well rounded and makes him an amazing addition to any team. Now, do you absolutely need this DLC? No. It certainly doesn't add 1/4 of the base game's amount of content like the price would suggest. However, considering the troublesome history DLCs in Darkest Dungeon 1, rest assured that this one is at least a net improvement to the game. Note, that it comes bundled with the oblivion edition which, at the time of this review, is considerably cheaper than buying base game and Binding Blade separately, due to asymmetric discounts.
