The DLC is great, but does it fit?

I wish this had been part of the original release. It's that good! The story was a hell of a ride and had tons of varied gameplay and dialogue that actually mattered. I actually care about the characters in Phantom Liberty a lot. My one complaint right now is that the DLC and the main game's missions don't click. They are like night and day. Since this is the only DLC they plan on releasing, I hope they learn from their mistakes and make the next game less open, fold the different stories together and make the narrative more fluid and impactful with regard to dialogue options. There's a real gem here, CDPR just need to commit to making it shine.

Great game, don't start new game though

First of: I started a new game, since CD Project recommends it. Honestly the DLC does not add a lot to the game. You just start a new game do the same stuff until you meet the Voodoo Boys. So I would recommend to skip it unless you want to replay the game. Regarding the DLC: Storywise it is very good, not perfect but very good. The new district is nice, there is some nice new ideas and the game looks beautiful. Graphics 9.5 Story 9 Audio 9 Difficulty (i played on second highest, i think hard) 6 - there is some hard opponents, but overall opponent AI is too stupid and easy to beat. Gameplay 8.5 Some cars have really bad maneuverability - otherwise gameplay is pretty good and smooth Overall score 9

Finally a Masterpiece.

Anyone not giving this game/DLC at least 4/5 has emotional problems. That's a fact. It is so incredibly fantastic. The story, the gameplay, the open world... Night City! I was hyped to play this game since 2012 when I saw the first ad for it. When the game finally launched I was heartbroken. It was just a broken game and it was lacking features that much older games had included with little effort. Soooo I put it away and waited.... Now the 2.0 update has come along with Phantom Lib and by the gods it is so incredible!! Thank you CDPR for finally delivering the experience I had dreamt about for so long. 5/5 from this choom all day long <3

Practically the perfect expansion.

Phantom Liberty has taken everything I liked about the base game and cranked it up to eleven while smoothing over the things I felt it was lacking quite well. The story is cohesive and enjoyable, the new content beyond the main quests, side gigs, world encounters, the new region, it’s all fun and polished, containing features I wish the base game had like the concentrated crime areas (or whatever they’re called) they feel like the ultimate form of the NCPD scanner hustles, the traditional RPG dungeon with some worthwhile loot and decent combat challenge but no actual quest to go with them, just something to stumble across and do. All the new weapons and equipment are incredible too, the loot pool truly feels fleshed out now but they’re not so overly common as to make it seem like only new stuff is dropping and they’re not exceedingly rare either. Most of my complaints with Phantom Liberty are more related to the 2.0 update having a few downgrades from the previous version (in my opinion). I haven’t finished Phantom Liberty yet so this is just my first 10 ish hours impression but I intend to add onto this review and update it depending on how the rest of it goes.
