Requested refund - Nothing so far.
I wanted to support you, this was my first game I bought on GOG, so you would get all the money, but no. BUY ON STEAM. They refund for garbage, no questions asked.
Ehhh, where do I start?
So far, despite the technical issues, I have enjoyed the game. It is a good game, it's oozing potential and charm but, in good conscience, I can't recommend this game. At the very least, not yet.
Lets start with the most obvious problem - technical state. For some lucky people like me, it is playable and stable with some minor bugs that are more annoying than gamebreaking, for some less lucky like my friend, it's an absolute nightmare of unplayability and 3 dead save files due to bugged out quest conflicts. This is an issue of being released too early, and I have faith that CDPR will fix this in time. Buy it then!
It is also not an RPG. This is one of the post-Origin Assassin Creed games. It's almost funny how similar these games are with randomized numbers loot, perk trees that don't majorly affect your game, and a beautifully made map full of side content to bulk up play time. In other words, gameplay wise this is your run of the mill open world blockbuster.
Sad part is - all around I can see evidence of all the ideas CDPR tried to make before they were forced to cut it out due to time constraints and replaced with rudimentary systems to have a game to release. This includes the simplicity of perks, trivial nature of skills, basic crafting system with broken resource economy, lack of basic QoL stuff, bad balancing, etc.
Now, the story and writing is actually excellent, and it's what keeps me playing (that and the amazing Night City). But herein also lies a problem. The game is advertised as an RPG but the story is a giant on the rails set piece. That means that your skills, perks and starting backstory only amounts to as much as flavour text during dialogue. On a first playtrough it's fun and helps be immersed, but on a second playtrough the illusion is broken. The story may differ, but it's the same V who plays it.
The saddest part is - bugs and gameplay can be fixed but the story will never be a true RPG. Promises were broken.
First of all the Story is great. I really like the dialogue options you get in the game and how it was made. You can walk and answer the dialogue. I never saw something like this in a other game.
The loading Screen is great. I have a SSD, it just takes a few seconds and I'm in game
Now the negative points...
The performance is shit. I have a Ryzen 5 2600x, a RX5700 and 16 GB RAM. I get arround 40 Fps while driving and 60 while walking (which is ok). It doesn't matter which graphic options I use, the performance is the same everytime and the game looks nearly the same at all options. Only on ultra I get 40 Fps while walking.
Another problem is, that there is no Vsync 60 Fps option. It is just 59 Fps or lower. Why???
In my Radeon Software I choose the Vsync option, so there is no tearing.
The graphic looks like a game from 2015 or maybe 2014. GTA V looks better and it was one of the last titles for PS3!!!
While driving, many elements are popping up in the world and are reloading. I'm asking myself why...
All in all I hope for Patches... many Patches. Especially for the performance. I don't think that they will change the graphic or give it a update but if they can do it, they should.
At last I wanna say something for the base console players on PS4 and Xbox One. What you guys did to them in really not nice. You took their money while knowing that the game doesn't run on the console. It's a shame.
An artificial hype was generated and many fanboys protect this game. I really looked forward for this game but I was disappointed.
I will definitely not buy your next game and will never preorder a game again.
As much fun as i'm having playing this game, it is clearly in a beta state. This game has so many QoL things it could have done, that games have been doing for decades. It has so many bugs at launch, that I had to double check that it was really made by CDPR. Very disappointing.
1. Inventory Management: Why is there no Favorite system, Sell-All button(that ignores equipped/favorited items), Multi-sell toggle(hold shift while clicking in a store and it sells that stack without popping up the slider), multi crafting.....so many systems that have been in games for decades didn't make it in to this.
2. Clarity: I legitimately still don't know if Perks that affect Shotguns, affect Tech Shotguns. There is so much about this game that is not clear. I even put a point into increased damage in shotguns to check it, and none of my shotguns in my inventory had their DPS update. NONE OF THEM. So I can't even test it in game.
3. Bugs: There are constant bugs in game; visual overlay getting fucked up, clipping through walls, quests just stopping and the list goes on. Many of them can be fixed with a re-load or restart, yet it's very annoying.
All in all, this is a very disappointing launch from a company I trusted enough to do my only pre-purchase in years. This feels like every other greedy launch from a AAA company, putting out un-finished crap 6-12 months too early.
Again, i'm enjoying my time, and yet this is not what I expected from a company I trusted and thought cared about their customers.
What frustrates me the most is probably the AI and physics. Here are some examples.
Cops: they just spawn right behind you (even when you are in a dead end) after you attack a NPC with no witnesses. No tracking your path in a car or something. Just... spawn behind you.
Driving NPC: when you stop your car in the middle of the road, they use the horn and never try to move around it. Pull a gun towards them for 1 sec. They just do the scary pose and never actually do anything anymore.
Ragdoll?: Try driving near some NPCs. When you are about to hit them (but haven't), they roll and dodge then glitch to the side of your car and continue to walk. Even when you hit them, there's almost like you didn't hit anything because the impact is so little.
There are also many bugs and glitches in the game. But I believe those can be fixed pretty quickly with patches.
I don't know how or how long you are gonna finish/redo the features that should have been there right from the start. I am talking about features that have existed in some 10/20 years old open world games. Sigh.
