Amazing city but lacks gameplay quality

As other reviews already state, i'll skip all the bugs and performance issues. At this point you've seen a lot of those and they will (I hope) get patched eventually. I was mainly hyped to this game as it is probably one of the first open world games based on the cyberpunk genre (Blade Runner, Altered Carbon, Deus Ex, Shadowrun,... to name a few). The game looks AMAZING, I love exploring this city and the NPCs around with implants but that's all, that's all I like about the game, add probably music in, some songs are pretty good. Now, what I don't like of the game... You can get broken pretty easily, I started out going melee and was a bit hard but later on you can annihilate everything, even without rifle perks, you can pretty much pick up one of the sniper rifles and shoot your way throught walls and kill bosses who are not even in your same floor. The game needs balance changes to skills, weapons and even AI, because they won't even bother to move where you are most of the times. AI needs a rework, NPCs just spawn or despawn on your back in the city, most enemies trip over their dead comrades or can't even reach you. Hand to hand combat, there's a fist fight quest so I expected hand to hand combat to be pretty good, but nope, enemies punch REALLY hard and they're hard to get down, also dodging feels really bad when the enemy just pushes their combo on you regardless if you dodged his first attack, so your only option is to abuse the heavy attack to stagger the opponent. Police system, there's no police, really, you kill civilians or even the police that's around the city and they just start spawning around, even behind you. Losing them is even as easy as picking a car and just driving away from them, they won't chase you. Lacks player customization options, I want implants to be more relevant on how you look and what you see (eye implants), as well as clothes. Lacks adult content, cmon it's cyberpunk genre, sex and how you look is what really matters.

Not worth the time or money

The game is is not just filled with bugs and performance issues but its just not good overall in terms of design and gameplay and even story.

Needs to go back in the oven for a bit

It's an okay game. Feels unfinished but lots of promise! Great visual direction but story felt lacking (and why bother with any RPG if there isn't a solid story to really role play with). Never finished it but got quite far; never really felt for any character and V is all over the place. Lots of great ideas but I'll try again in a year and see if it got any better. What a disappointment. :(

Ok game but did not live up to the hype

Been playing this game for many hours so I think I am qualified to say this. Pro's 1) It has a great cinematic story, I would like to see a live movie adaptation in theaters because the story has potential. 2) The city does capture the cyberpunk theme, its very impressive because no game until now has done something like that. I was in awe when I first started playing. 3) This is game has the best ost/soundtrack in my opinion. ------------------ Con's 1) Gunplay is alright but not the best, I like the automatic covering system its so fluid. It's a con for now because gunplay/combat needs to be reworked and I believe they can improve it with patches. 2) AI is just terrible. Nothing like modern games like RDR2/GTA5, I believe GTA San Andreas and Fallout New Vegas had way better AI than Cyberpunk 2077. 3) Choices dont matter everything is so linear. You dont really have any choices that impact the game's story and experience (a few but its only in the very last mission). We were lied about this and this is what sadly could have made it Game of the Year despite its bugs. 4) A lot of cut content, there's a youtube video explaining this, its a long list so I wont write it in here. All I am going to say is there's no thermal Katana (maybe they will add it later on) but that thermal katana you see in their trailers is non existent to date, my point is everything you saw on the trailers is most likely no in the game. 5) While its an impressive city its also dead, there's hardly any interaction with it except to buy items and cars and maybe sex if you are in that sort of thing. There's no mini games, no barber shop (thanks to mods you can change your character's appearance), nothing like in GTA5/RDR2 or even like in the Yakuza games or Way of the Samurai 4 which had more stuff to interact with. 6) Driving is just bad. 7) Not a lot of guns in my opinion nor you cant customize them that much, you start noticing that after you have played for hours.
