I've only played for a couple of hours but so far it has exceeded my expectations.
I've encountered some minor physics and graphical glitches here and there, but so far it has been a smooth experience for me. I'm playing with a GTX1070, 16GB, and a Ryzen3700X on medium at 1080p. Medium looks great, and there are minor drops here and there that do not break the immersion.
It's true the game needs more polish though. Sometimes a door closes and there is no audio effect, or the story scripting could be better. Hopefully CDPR will iron these wrinkles out during the coming months.
I’ve played this 3 times in a row, each time I tried out a different life path and a different build for my V. I found that you can have different experiences depending on how you build your V or what Cybernetics you install. In general, gameplay and quests where, to me, just as good as the Witcher 3. Side quest are usually fun and you are free to play and handle them all however you like, or ignore all of them, if you so wish. This complete freedom you have about the way you play was exactly what I personally love in RPGs, and miss in many modern ones out there.
Each playthrough I noticed new little plot hints I could add to my collection of theories, it’s rich in lore and carefully connected plot lines, which in my opinion has the ability excite any RPG fan that likes to speculate about stories and what could happen next. The endings are also fun to explore, I have played through all of them, and neither of them fell short, in contrast to many other RPGs. Here, all endings where fleshed out and extremely different to each other.
The characters and the story are gripping, it’s very easy to be immersed and be invested into what is happening. In terms of the RPG-ness, you get a lot of choices that let you influence the story.
Do we get to see many of the outcomes we cause? No. But the way this story is written, it seem to me as if the outcomes will carry over to either DLC or the next game, since almost all of them hinted towards another plot, while the main game is busy concluding Vs problem with the chip. Every ending is open ended on top of that and leaves a lot of room for speculations and theories. I would be very surprised if everything we did wouldn’t matter. If that would end up the case, I might change by rating but for now: I’m very excited for what is to come.
I would rec this game to anyone who is on the lookout for a new RPG. Especially so if you love FPS and/or Sci-Fi. Personally, I can’t wait to start a new playthrough once the DLCs are out.
Best game ever.
I'm enjoying every single second in it.
Yes, there are some glitches.
Yes, the double tap dash is f****g annoying if you have a stealth based PG like me.
And so?
Is it really all you have to say about this game? Are you stupid?
I'm shocked.
You know what the problem is? It's not the same shit fantasy that people want to play over and over.
Cyberpunk is not a theme for everyone. If you are a retarded moron like 90% of the people, you can't appreciate a cyberpunk setting.
As much as many people never been in an illegal rave party high on LSD.
A world of stupid cows that just want a fantasy setting to masturbate over rabbits and elfs.
That's the real "problem" of this game.
CDPR, I'll be eternally grateful to you for having made the game of my life.
Respect.
If you have the horsepower to run this game, it is amazing. I have played all three origin stories and pretty much everything I can find and cant wait for DLC. the story is strong for an open world adventure / rpg, the romances are powerful and possibly the best ever for a video game,
Now, there are technical issues, some people would prefer a bigger FOV, the game is less playable with mouse and keyboard and is really needing a controller, Probably the biggest issue is the mini-map does not zoom out when driving making it hard to see gps turns. and if your on a last gen console, you will have less than a good experience. There are also still some collision bugs, some missions are not completing and some objects are misplaced and floating,. here and there, though mostly this is fixed.
But on next gen, (i played on series X and on PC and i loved both) what you get is a epic film noir setting Cyberpunk experience in the best tradition of Gibson and Philip K Dick, with a setting that wears its Blade Runner inspiration on its sleeve. The world is epic and beautiful and the level of AI is perfect to fit the setting. Just amazing, i love it and cant recommend it high enough to fans of Adult story based RPG's
