There's a great game under all the noise
I own this game on console (PS4 Pro) and on PC. I have played through Act 1 on all platforms, but have gotten significantly farther on PC. This is due to the fact that the PC version is the optimal version of the game. It is better looking, runs smoother, and is generally a better experience than the console version. That being said, my experience on console was not entirely broken it was just wonky. Comparisons aside, let me get to the reason why I decided to write this review. Cyberpunk 2077 is a great game for fans of immerisive sims, dystopian futures, and OG Deus Ex. This is not the BEST GAME OF ALL TIME. Nor is it necessarily groundbreaking in any meaningful way other than its graphical fidelity. But, this game is fun to play. When it runs smoothly and without a hitch or glitch, it is a truly spectacular and immersive experience. Looking around is fun because of all the little details you can find on innocuous surfaces. It's impressive to breath in and experience a different and fleshed out world. This is, I believe, a labor of love for the developers, but was just business as usual for management and leadership. Cyberpunk 2077 needed at least another year in development, but the laws of business and profits demanded a premature release despite it's undercooked state. It's such a shame. This game COULD have been a milestone in gaming. It COULD have been a instant classic with a lasting legacy. Instead we got a half baked release that will forever mar the image of this product for no good reason other than: Money. Running on Ryzen 7, GTX 1660, 8 GB RAM gets 1080p Ultra with framerate between 30-40. Really not bad.
