So let see. The game is need some patch of course. BUT what is give us is a Brutally good story, amazing characters and so many good time Yes is buggy and there is lot of fixing to do. But would this be the first such game?I do not think so. I trust CD Projekt Red and i know they will be fixed everything
TLDR: 8/10 Let me explain why before you get your hate on.
First though, I have not completed the main story yet. I haven't even gotten to Level 10. 7.5 hours in and still not 1/4 of the way through. There is just so much going on. So much detail and oh so many side quests. But please remember, this is my personal opinion about my experience about this game.
Controls: 6/10 Walking, running, and shooting are your standard FPS style. Works well and no issues. Biggest complaint is the driving. Maybe I got spoiled with Racing games (NFS, Forza), but these cars drive like black ice is everywhere.
Graphics: 10/10 I am running 1080p Med-High on my 5700xt and still getting 60 FPS. And it is flipping beautiful.
Sound: 9/10 I can't complain. Sounds are wonderful and you get the sense that you are in this city.
Story/Lore: 9/10 Maybe I'm easy to please, but the story is great so far.
Cops are a little quick to pull the trigger against you just for walking to close. That's kind of annoying. AI could use a lot of working, but when I'm in a firefight with a gang of people, it gets my blood pumping. AI staying behind cover because they can't path to me, meh. Not a problem, except when their buddy is flanking my left at full speed about to slice me with their katana. Didn't see them until last second because I'm watching the other guy bug out. It's funny and scary at the same time.
Have I had game crashes, yes. Is it a pain in the ass when it happens, of course. Glitches, yes. Seen people and cars go through the world and straight up appear/disappear in front of me. I could easily get an hour or more of gameplay before a crash. Honestly, it doesn't bother me a lot. They are working hard to get patches to fix it.
Besides, at the end of the day, it's a game. If you like it, cool. If you don't, that's cool too. I got the game not because of the hype, but because I wanted to play it. I didn't waste $60. I like it. And this is my personal opinion about it.
Have a good day!
I really wanted to give this 5 stars but with the state it was released in, the bugs and the performance issues I just can't.
That being said, I'm playing this game on a pretty high end machine so I suffered less from these performance issues than other people have.
Looking past the bugs, this game has many things for me to love - first of all the city, which is probably the greatest city in any open world game I ever played. Not only it looks beautiful, but it feels like every corner has some story to tell. The world design itself manages to tell us about its history, culture and people.
The side quests - I feel like every side quest, even the most generic "gigs" adds something to the story and to this world. All of them have some little twist in them, making each one memorable, something that a lot of open world games fail at.
The characters and story - when I bought this game I just wanted a good open world RPG set in a cyberpunk setting. What I didn't expect is to be so invested in the story and the characters. I think the main plot here is really interesting, and made much more emotional by the exceptional cast of characters, their great writing and voice work.
The soundtrack is also incredible. The original score has some real bangers, but also all the radio stations have some really, really good tracks.
About the gameplay - I don't really enjoy the looter-shooter stuff, but I actually like the huge skill tree. It feels like there are many ways to approach the gameplay, and generally the game accomodates whichever style you choose. The gunplay here is really nice, and I also have to say I enjoy the stealth - hacking my way around to get to my objective. It's as close as it can get to an open world Deus Ex game.
About this being an RPG - sure, it doesn't has as much depth as other RPGs, but it still feels like the player has a lot of choice here.
I wish they gave this game more time, because then it could be perfect.
We all know by now the problems surrounding CP2077. *see any other review*
I have been waiting for an adaptation of the P&P game since Deus Ex first dropped and I thought 'hey this might be possible (with VtMB, another of my favourite P&P games, not far behind it, it was just a matter of time and who).
Then it was time and the who now known.
The who, very exciting.
The time, though numerical perfect for the meta of the P&P, just to early.
Night City feels awesome, aesthetically on point, beautiful and ugly at the same time.
It is, after all this time waiting, where I want to spend my time online playing and herein lies a problem. Time waiting.
In all that time waitng we have seen this game loop and presentation over and over. CP2077 does the esthablished well, its just already well esthablished.
There is obviously much missing from the game, from the stated ambitions of the dev team in getting the IP, to the showcase gameplays over the years and THAT E3 (Breathtaking).
The who still excites me and is still have that gamers optimism that CDPR will finish as strong as THAT other great game.
