Don't believe the negativity

This game is close to a masterpiece. Close. Only thing holding it back is the bugs, but that was granted to happen thanks to the vocal minority wanting the game rushed out. Corporate definitely has a role to play too, don't get me wrong, but consumers shouldn't be absolved of all blame. The problem I have with every other review is that they mention the bugs way too often; they don't even review the actual game. Less of a review and more of a hot take or first impression with a nice clickbait stamp on it. Get down to the actual game of Cyberpunk 2077 and it's amazing. Dare I say, breathtaking? Gunplay is smooth, story is engaging, and most of the side jobs don't feel like chores. The music clearly had a lot of love put in to it as well, since each artist was asked to make their songs as if they lived in Night City. The attention to detail is phenominal; something I would expect from CDPR at this point. I'll remember this game in high regards as I do with The Witcher series. Thank you to the hardworking devs who put up with the long hours due to their passion to create something worthwhile! Their sacrifice is unreal and words aren't enough to show my gratitude.

Let's start with the obvious out of the way: Cyberpunk 2077 is a demanding game for your hardware. There are technical issues with the game that you're going to encounter in the game's current state. No, it was not as bad as Twitter or YouTube makes it out to be, at least on my system, but you should come into this game with these issues in mind, at least until February 2021 for major patches that have been announced. With all that said, the game underlying the mountain of bugs is incredible. The gunplay has "oomph" to it, melee is well done, driving is decent, crafting is there, and you can indeed build a character to play however you want. Right now I'm playing an ex-corpo sword-wielding ronin who thinks guns are for the lazy and desperate. The game mechanics are all there to support your chosen play style. But you shouldn't come to a CD Projekt Red game for mechanics. You should come to them for the story, clearly written by adults for adults, with a branching storyline that plays out organically. Your choices matter greatly. There are endless shades of grey, where you're never sure if you're the bad guy or the good guy (i.e., this isn't Mass Effect where you're earning Paragon or Renegade points) . The stories are simply exquisite. Even seemingly unimportant sidequests turn out to be incredible and very memorable. tl;dr - This is a game made with love, and it shows. Play now if you can deal with technical problems. Play in February 2021 or later if you're looking for a more stable experience.

I can see the future

This game is not in a finished state. However I have still played it and been able to get lost in the world. I cant wait until all bugs are fixed, graphics get optimised. and content added (looks like much of it is ready) The AI needs a heap of work, the cars physics and AI drivers randomly fly off or explode. Hold off buying for atleast 12 months. Or until after the netflix series comes out. Honestly finish witcher 3 then buy this

Good story, but a very shallow world...

After about 50+ hours game time, it felt like the game is lacking in something, something that makes the world feel...more alive(bugs as entertaiment dont count..). There are many issue with the game that are fixable, but there r some issue that cant(hopefully just for now)with its main issues, The world of this game. After completing the main campaige (completed all side character storyline), everthing just feel blend. theres nothing that makes me wanna return to play this game as a relaxing walkthrough (i somethimes just enter a game even when i played 100% just to take me out of the real world just for a moment). I can maybe say that this game did not take the genre "RPG" and "CyberPunk" to its full extent or in another terms...coorperate the 2 genre. Instead its more like "Cyberpunk, the open world linear story game". Theres tons of potential mechanics that felt left out in the game and genre (disguise as one of the enemies with thier clothes,have a face change shop that let u change ur look so enemies cant recognise you as u play the side mission or meeting familiar faces (like how pepe Najarro's wife said she changed her looks or lizzy wizzy taking off the bottom half of her face in the old trailer), customizable house/vehicle to suit each occasion (which i heard been cut out), and a realtime events like riots and what not (havn't encounter one)). But instead we direct copy and paste of the cyberpunk from tabletop to game with little to no extra elements to increase the mechanical and storytelling depth of the game. or as a video game in general. It maybe be too much to ask at this point or it maybe in general but to me its a crucial aspect thats makes the game more lively

Cool cyberpunk world - good foundation.

-> First: it is clear there was a lot of pressure to release the game maybe too early. Which will bring a lot of bad first judgment. Polishing is lacking and I'm pretty confident RedProjekt will polish it in the coming time; as they did with all the previous games to a very generous and professional level of commitment. The PC performance is a lot better than I was expecting. Glitch and weird physical event can happen, nothing a good patch work can not resolve. I was surprised to realize that it is entirely a first person game, I was somehow expecting a third view like in the Witcher. But OK, I adapted myself to it. It's just far less important to work on the look of your character since you don't really get to see it in action. The sound of the cars are based on fuel-engine which to me sound really weird in a cyberpunk age of clearly electric retro-looked vehicule. Something sounding less fuel-based would have fit better to my opinion. Otherwise, after around 20h in game, the story unfold in an interesting way. Design and visual style is very interesting. It takes a while to get use to the environment and the many options in it. The impossibility to change some basic look after initial choice (like hairdressing, tattoos and nail color...) is an odd design choice. I do look forward the evolution and patching of the game with great interest. Global impression is very good.
