Needs BIG improvements but they'll come!

Expectations have always been the enemy. Big part of me wishes they hadn't hyped the game this much... My biggest criticism is that CDPR tried to release on old-gen consoles in the first place! This game is meant to be played for the next 10-20 years. All you did is drag the game down by trying to "back-date" it. I apologize but old-gen console owners were NOT meant to play this game. In addition to what mainstream reviewers already had to say, I will only add a few more things. If this game wants to be a truly customizable experience - which you would expect from an RPG - here are some things I personally expect it to deliver in the future via DLCs etc: 1) A LOT more customization for vehicles/weapons/gear/AND housing! Basically everything you can own in the game. Also, INCREASE the number of things we can own by a very large margin! 2) Speaking of housing, how about incorporating a 'base-building' system where, as a Nomad, we can build a place of our own? A lot of people dismiss or dislike this concept, but this is what brings me back to Fallout 4 time after time despite its many other flaws! I can actually build my own world in that game, even if it's a tiny part of the existing universe that devs built! And guess what? I'm going back to it now for the next year, while I wait for CP2077 to get fixed. 3) Also, there is something about the game in its current state that does not satisfy a hoarder like me... Playing the game felt wasteful to me in terms of in-game resources. I don't know if this will make sense to most people here. Just my style... Can't think of anything else right this moment, but we are here to support you CDPR! I know this game can top the Witcher 3! Please make sure it does. There is so much potential!

Amazing Game

Sure, I heard of all the stuff going on for many players... but I have to say for me it is just an amazing experience so far: - No major showstopper bugs - Only minor bugs, can be fixed with a reload and not happing that often - Few glitches (Hair, Cigarette stuck mit air)... but not annoying to me - Only worrying thing atm is the 8 MB savegame size cap which seems to corrupt the save game (at ~4.5 MB atm), but I hope this gets fixed soon. To the best aspects: - Superb writing - Looks stunningly beautiful - Love the setting - Adore the characters - Love the open world I really enjoy playing it so far and go extra slow - lots of exploring and side quests, gigs etc. - because I don't want it to end. I know it sucks that many players have problem.... believe me I get it, but I have trust in CDPR to fix the remaining issues.

Overhyped, Overexpectations, Overoutrage

Nobody's happy with Cyberpunk 2077, it seems like, even those who actually liked this game. It's a sexist game for some. Racist for others. For even others CDPR lied. Console players have good cause to be pissed off at release. Dildos everywhere, and chicks with dicks have managed to piss off all sensibilities. Which boggles my mind. It's a very good game. It'll stay with me, which puts Cyberpunk 2077 on a very short list compared to the hundreds of games I played in the last 25 years. I played one ending and it was so touching and meaningful I'm left satiated, not wanting to play any further. Which is exactly what I'm looking for in a game. The quality of that ending brought that of Blood & Wine to my mind. Despite the quality of its story and the dystopic beauty of Night City, this game has infuriating design flaws, such as crafting, the map & mini-map, driving, crowd & car behaviour, unimpressive perks. I am also saddened by the excellent but lackluster romances. I'll not mention the bugs, as there's enough talk about that. They were not game breaking for me during most of the game, but as I neared end game with a crafting heavy character, they became increasingly hindering. Caveat emptor. Here's the moral I take from this story : Developer releases something great that one time. Gamers & journos expect that the next thing will be as good or even greater, without knowing how it'll be so. Developer banks on and ups these expectations, without knowing how gamers & journos will be pissed off. Gamers & journos start talking praise as if the Second Coming is happening, without any evidence. Developer releases too soon, for whatever reason, a spark is lit, and s*storm ensues. This is a game of mirrors, not art.

I did not give in to the wave of hype

I did not give in to the wave of hype I bought this game the day before its release when I knew it was worth as much as it was priced by the publisher. Looking at the journalistic reviews when CD Projekt Red released the game for 10 hours to journalists, I knew this game would be average. But I gave her a chance. Now that I've played a little bit, I think it's great. It is so huge and the world is so complicated that I am not surprised by the mass of bugs. They have to put in titanic work to make the game perfect - I think 2024 will be "perfect" at the earliest. I have a 49 inch monitor - walking around Night City I feel like I'm on a trip to a foreign country. The game is phenomenal. Unfortunately, errors like a car half buried in asphalt, or people walking in the air spoil my immersion a bit. I give 4 stars. I'm sure I will give this game 5 stars in 2-3 years. Okay, there's nothing to write about - I'm going to play;)
