First of all does the game live up to the hype, yeah but not fully. I dont know why they couldnt just atleast provide a 3rd person pers. as when i was playing this game while driving 97% i switch to 3rd pp and when i get out of the car i wished i could see my charactere and the cool clothes but hey ....i guess no.
Was running this game on 5700xt on 1440p with 34-40 fps, am lucky i got the 6900xt now am playing 4k at 40 fps with fidelity fx. At 4k The game looks amazing and you can see the effort.
As of bugs i honestly ran into clipping and one ped T-posing and am 14 hrs in.
Is this a bad game - no
Does it live up to the hype - yes at somepoint.
I really think they should have added a 3rd person camera for when you on the streets. But the game is really good minus all the complains. Never hyping up for a game this much thats for sure.
Everything was going very well until the wild bugs appeared, there came a moment when my main game got buggy and I couldn't continue to play. I literally can't play this now because my saved game is corrupted. In the end CD Projekt takes care of this game as the pirate servers of World of Warcraft take care of the bugs, it seems they decided to stop being the best studio in the industry and create their own version of Fallout 76.
Where was the studio that created masterpieces, loved and cared for its users? I think that company that we loved so much, no longer exists, they have become an EA or Ubisoft more of this industry.
Playing on a decent PC I like the game a lot; it has everything you could ask for in an open world game and so much more. From the incredible visuals, to the countless missions, side jobs and other activities, to the huge variety of weapons and play styles you can adopt, it truly has something for everyone.
I did encounter a few bugs, some required a save re-load; but as long as you save often, its not a huge issue. I really like the fact you can save the game at any time, without having to go back to your apartment or other nonsense like that. It also allows easy replay of missions if you want to try different approaches, like going full stealth or guns blazing, or just choping everyone into pieces :D
Once CDPR fixes up the remaing bugs and issues this will be a masterpice of a game for a long time to come.
Story is amazing, loved most of my playthrough, other than the bugs that usually resulted in me reloading a save and the infrequent autosaves during long missions, and the average 40fps on high end hardware at medium settings, other than that it's worth it
It is a good game and the potential is there for something great, but it never came.
I was lucky to only experience "relatively" few bugs, about every 1-2 hours I would to save and reload to clear a bug, and I only had 1 crash.
Graphics 4.5/5 - Everything looks amazing, and the city design is the best I seen in any game. the lighting and shading could have been use better for a more dystopian look.
Gameplay 4/5 - There is a lot of way you can tackle situation, when you unlock more body mods, it expands even more. There are still many area that feel more hallway like.
Sound 4/5 - Pretty good sound design overall. Some weapons, especially melee could be improve for a better impression of the strength of the weapon
Music(radio) 3/5 - There are games which has soundtrack that will look up. This isn't one them
Story 3/5 - It starts off good, a lot of generic tropes at first, but the ending is not for everyone taste.
It is a tragic story, there are plenty of stories like that. Some treat the main character worst like guts in berserk, but this is the only one left me with a numb feeling.
The real issues
At first I was content with the game.
But then I made the mistake of looking at the trailers, and articles about the game again.
It becomes clear so much was change and cut back on.
Wouldn't be a shock if some things were cut or change for various censorship as well.
Not to forget the consoles issue.
The marketing feels deceptive to a degree I would expect from lesser companies.
Opportunities the game missed, not including things that were advertised or hinted at.
You have a phone in your head, but not a radio
No in world version of amazon, for everything except special and legendary
A real bounty system.
In the end I'm disappointed more in the CD Project Red vs the game itself.
I hope there will be a sequel to the game,
Maybe CD Red can do what Bethesda did, and let another studio build a new game out of the shell of this one.
