Since the 3,7 average rating in my opinion is a little bit to high, I wanted to write this review with some of the things I think about the game
Initially presented like a revolutionary RPG the game is now tagged as an action game, and in both the case it doesn't work good.
The graphics and the art are amazing, but RPG fans usually don't aim for graphics but for substance.
- You can't customize your charcter after creation
- Choice do not matter, everything is scripted in the storylines
- Clans are just there for nothing
- The game is unbalanced and some skills are just useless
Grand Theft Cyberpunk.
Can not express how deeply disappointed I am with this game. I didn't follow the hype. All I knew Mike Pondsmith was involved and it was Cyberpunk 2077. Plunked my money down almost automaticlly. A sucker for this P&P as much as Shadowrun.
As pretty as it is there is no RPG in it. The Story is on rails and it is not really your story as it's more Johnny's. I was at least expecting three different faction starts and got one. All the character cutomization is pointless due to no real 3rd person camera. Choices do not matter much. The Cyberwear is broken with no reason to upgrade from white when most of the rest of the tiers are identical. Hacking has veny little reward outside of one shotting enemies and getting spare change from a vending machine. The cars are clunky as all get out. Clipping a pedestrian gets you a 4 star response from the warp police.
With the years this was in development, this game should of shined, but it's just a directional chaotic mess. A whole lot of ideas and mechanics and nothing really polished. I really do not know how CDPR can pull this out of the dumpster. I haven't played it since the first patch. and thier ptaches are coming out very slow IMHO. I am hopeing they can pull a rabbit out of their hat but I am seriously have doubts.
Let's start with the good. Crash.
The graphics are really nice, Crash.
The customization is decent. Crash.
The variety of weapons and general items is interesting.. Crash
Being able to craft your own stuff is a plus. Crash.
Now the mediocre. Crash.
The game system is... Poor: Crash:
- I can't use weapons I collected off the bodies of felled enemies because why? Crash? My level isn't high enough? Crash? WTF does that even mean? Crash?
- How can I stab a guy in the eye three times without him even noticing? This is JUST A GUY. He doesn't even have a fucking helmet! Crash!
- The same exact item, at different levels, has wildly different stats. The same shirt can have 8 armor, or 100 armor, or more. Crash.
The game is very clearly made for console, with keyboard and mouse a distant afterthought. Crash.
The storyline is... Bleak. There is no good ending, and your choices matter little. Crash,
Combat with friendlies is... No. Just no. Crash,
And finally the terrible. Crash,
The audio is... WTF? The NPCs sound like they are speaking into a cheap intercom. Crash.
The 3d sound... Isn't. You cannot reliably use aural cues to determine the position of NPCs, or anything else really. Immersion definitely breaks often and hard there. Crash.
And dulcis in fundo... Crash.
Crash crash crash crash crash.
Somewhere between bugs, glitches and poor design choices lies an average RPG shooter with good story but it is not worth it at all.
Thank the CDPR management for this clusterfuck.
For example:
1. When speaking with Jackie at Lizzie's Bar during the Corpo opening, bodies of NPCs in the background started flickering. From testing, it seems like it's related to the Crowd Density setting. Low seemed to reduce the frequency of this issue.

2. V's body glitching out when walking down the stairs crouched. Seems to only occur at Empathy.

3. During the drive to Konpeki Plaza, the Delamain cab suddenly stopped moving after the conversation with T-Bug. We stopped just outside of the entrance to Konpeki Plaza. Pressing F to skip the ride allowed the drive to continue.
4. UI elements can overlap at times, especially when driving a vehicle.
5. Items like weapons, phones, and screwdrivers not despawning and getting stuck in the hands of NPCs or floating in the air during conversations. For example, when speaking with Wakako, her phone can sometimes float in the air even after the animation of her putting it away. Old bug from 2020.
6. Noticed a lot more clipping with pants, especially when sprinting in first person or riding a motorcycle.
7. Noticeable pop-in on vegetation and certain objects like hanging tarps or curtains.
8. Still no option to bind a dedicated dodge key.
9. Still no option to disable or set the frequency of autosaving.
10. When tracking the vans with Panam during Life During Wartime, my motorcycle suddenly exploded and Panam teleported to the gas station.
11. FOV can sometimes get locked in a zoomed in state after story sequences. For example, in the first flashback sequence with Johnny and Rogue.
12. While greatly reduced in frequency, cars can still spawn and despawn very close to the player. In addition, cars can still sometimes crash or brush up against certain barriers on the road.
