If you have a older CPU (non-AVX) then dont buy. Because this game currently needs AVX.
CDPR needs to fix that ASAP. Because more then the Tutorial till a certian point, i havnt seen from the Game.
But when it runs Nomed Tutorial. Well then its good even on a W3670 with a RX570 ITX and 24GB RAM.
you will be forced to use the wasd setup, due to the inability to remap critical controls, such as the use key.
This will likely interfer with your playing experience.
Okay, here me out. I don't regreat buying this game because I support with all my heart CDP work but this game needed more work.
Let's talk about performance:
I own an RTX 2070, a Ryzen 3600, 16 GB RAM DDR4 at 3600mhz and the game is installed in a SDD. I play with a xbox one controller but still the game feels a little bit...clunky. All my settings are at high, some of them are at medium. RTX off and DLSS on auto. I have gsync activated and I'm sure it makes the game feels smoother than it is.
Graphics:
I'm not a fan of ray tracing. I think it's not worth the performance it costs. So I play with it off. The game doesn't look particulary good. I don't know how to explain it but the textures look flat and low res in some places. I believe the game should have a benchmark so we could test how the game performs with different graphics settings.
Controls:
As I said before, I play with a controller. Sure, this game looks like a console port but still, even with a controller the game doesn't feels "right". I'm pretty sure this game would have worked way better as a third person game.
There is this stupid bug where the language settings revert to default everytime you launch the game. for example, I play with english voices and spanish texts. But everytime I restart the game, the text language resets to english.
I know CDP will fix the game with more patches, but for now I'm gonna stop playing. I hope the game will be in a better state in a couple of months.
I suspect this game was not really tested before release. Some really really basic bugs like no one in CDPR has played it.
Not much options to create your caracter.
Cmobat also sukcs.
Regret buying the Simply Red bundle for $87.77. Would never pre-order any CDPR's games in the future.
I tried playing this game on medium settings with rtx2070 + 3440*1440 display. No major performance issues without DLSS. It overall runs good.
However first impressions of game are really not great and I would advice people to not rush into game at this point of time.
First things I encountered after starting the game were bugs:
1. Some characters weren't rendered properly while standing in front of me.
2. While running through city streets I saw randomly rendered trees right in front of my face. These things blocked my view. No idea what was going on.
In terms of fight. I really disliked fights when you have to shot a lot into single enemy to kill. Typically when I play FP game I prefer to kill fast/die fast. Like in Bioshock for example. In this game shooting just doesn't feel good.
Graphics looks promising, but I wasn't impressed with medium settings, and my GPU won't allow me to play it with higher settings on high resolution. But who cares when there are a lot of bugs and gameplay doesn't feel good?
