Amazing Action, lite RPG game.

I hate the fact that Cyberpunk 2077 was once focused on heavy RPG during early development then later on turn into purely, if not mostly an Action game. To this day I much rather have the RPG Cyberpunk 2077 we were promised all those years ago. But I cannot deny how amazing Cyberpunk 2077 for what it is. Decent/really good side stories to great main story, awsome cast of characters, many weapons and different builds to play with. Gameplay is just too good. I realized while exploring and paying attention to my surroundings, there are buildings and areas that are heavily unused/unfinished or blocked or completely walled off locations that you can clearly see and start to question about it. You can tell CDPR really tried, I mean the evidence is around the player itself. CDPR was really going for the most deep and immersive open world city to ever been created, but as we all know it simply was not meant to be. Phantom Liberty DLC is nothing but phenomenal, story telling at its finest and of course improved upon gamplay. CDPR PLEASE make the Cyberpunk RPG we were promised origionally.

Mediocre, wasted potential

I completed a playthrough with one character in the early weeks and months as this game released. I played it mostly to complete the story, but I didn't find that game that outstanding. The story, the game mechanics and the game world don't fit well together. The story is an urgent matter and you're supposed to be under pressure to find a solution quite quickly. It doesn't fit to an open world in which you can drive around and look for collectible and side quests. The items could have been part of an MMO with item levels and such. Many items were not really that different in stats, but in aestetics only. The character levels and cyber ware upgrades are similiar. Some are for certain a playstyle, some are not. With playstyle I mean rather fighting style. There seems to be some options related to talk and sneak, but I had never the impression you could rely on them. At some point you need to fight and you need to be good. I started a new playthrough with the new expansion after all that talk how much improved the game now is and all those issues are still there. Actually some point became worse. Because now I got attacked while I was simply traversing the city on the way to another quest and the enemies just appeared from nowhere and kill me quickly. I tried multiple solutions from that save and could not find out why they suddenly appear and want to see me dead. The story missions of the game puts you often in situations which you can't really anticipate, prepare and look for another solution. The city it crafted well built city and the ability to drive through is great, I just think a different story would have worked much better with it.
