Everything feels poorly designed. You can feel the crunch the Devs went thru when making this game. Except for the graphics and sound, everything is both simultaneously half-baked AND cranked up to 11. They say "jacking in" every time you plug into a computer ffs. Also the computer science aspects of the game are disappointing, the weather is usually hsunshiney, the critique of corporatism and capitalism falls flat.... But, its still an enjoyable romp... Somewhat. 2/10
For context: Writing this as of patch 1.6, after 450 hours and 2.5~ playthroughs
Pros:
- Game World/Level design
- characters, quests
- exploration, easter eggs, and hidden lore snippets
- gunplay
- the Lore
- the music
- the atmosphere
- signs of constant improvements with additional contents (at the time of writing)
- modding community
Cons:
- World can feel empty. Missing misc. side and immersion based activity. (The Roach minigame was a good addition, but more is needed, like having the ability to eat at food vendors, use the metro etc.)
- police system is nonexistant
- Gang warfare, car chased, and other similair content are missing and sorely needed
Overall: The game was truly over amitious for the timeframe. It has immense potential, yet would have needed a year or two still in development, and due to the scope, last gen consoles should have been pulled as options. What is there is great, but is still missing components that needs to be added to earn a 5/5. If you gauge it as it's own experience instead of what was promised, it can be a great experience
I've been trying to find out why it won't let me switch to the Monitor that I wanted on and it on'y shows that I have 1 Monitor even though I have 2. I've been losing my mind trying to get it to switch and nothing is working. I still enjoy the game but I want to look at the game on the other monitor so I don't have to tilt my head everytime
Story and characters are promising, but the game just is not fun. Everything is clunky and annoying and overly complex while at the same time, nothing really matters. I really wanted to see the story develop, but I am not going to fight through this mess any longer. I give up. Maybe you like it - I dont.
