The base game is good, but it is plagued with bugs and half/not functioning systems.
I'd advise against getting this game right now and just wait for all the fixes to come in.
CDPR Delayed the game several time to as I quote "make the game perfect" oh boy...
I waited for this game since it was announced and was happy that they decided to delay it to make it a good game that I would enjoy but sadly this game is far from perfect maybe it´s even far from being a good game.
The game is riddled with bugs and glitches, the A.I is some of the worst I´ve ever seen.
The game feels like a open beta and not finished at all.
This reminds me alot to the No Mens Sky release, promised so much but in the end we just go a beta version for 60€.
I´m realy dissapointed and I´m going to refund this game until CDPR will patch the game and work on the A.I.
Guess I have to wait another year for this game to be good..
At the time of writing this review, I have played about 11 hours. Not much, but enough to see that the game really isn't at all what it was said (read: marketed) to be, but something more simple.
The world itself is beautiul representation of futuristic megacity, but it really lacks depth. Every mission seems prescripted and you as a player have little to none choice. The game gives the player a illusion of choice, but in the end the result is always the same. Need to admit, that I was looking for Witcher 3 level of meaningness, but it just isn't the case here.
The game plays fine, and I have not met any game breaking bugs, illusion and immersive breaking yes, but the game hasn't crashed on me once.
If you are looking borderlands type of shooter based in future metropolis, this really is a game for you. Otherwise, wait. The game might be good in six months or two years, who knows?
Good main story line and music, nothing else. This game is looking pretty nice. Can't wait when it will be out of early access. Everyting except main story line and music needs to be fixed
The graphics are really nice, although I did have some ray tracing issues with FPS drops and incorrect reflections in glass. I also appreciate the design of the city itself, it looks very much like Bladerunner.
I'm dissapointed in the poor amount of variety of things to do though. All the side activities I've run accross are just "Kill the bad guys" and even though there are non-lethal options the game really tries to justify killing anyone who shoots at you, so even if I CAN not kill someone there isn't much incentive to not.
I enjoy the story but the whole 'Nomad, Street Kid, Corpo' life choice that was touted for months is really just which 15 minute intro you want and which bonus dialog options you get. I was expecting a lot more agency to come with that choice.
My biggest gripe is the 'gaminess' of the world though. There are way too many repeated character models walking around, and not enough of them. Cars pop in out of no where, drive through obsticles, and NPC driving sequences are a jerky on-rails mess. I also don't appreciate seeing loads of 'simulated' traffic with headlights and such on the road 500 meters ahead only to see 1-2 cars pop in when I get closer.
In all I do like playing as long as I think of this game as an early access Dues Ex title. I really hope devs stick with it to make it a better experience over the next few weeks but given that they had 8 years I can guarantee that there will only be bug fixes and the core gameplay won't change past QOL fixes. It's sad to say but I think the best version of this game will be in 2 years with all the DLC (if that happens). It seems like 6 of the 8 years of development was put into the penis physics, which, btw, just wasn't neccessary.
