Cyberpunk 2077 is mostly "playable" on my system. I have a GTX 1070 with a i7-10700K. Others have written about the bugs and crashes and controls so I won't repeat them here.
Even on a mix of low to high settings the game does look fantastic.
I'm disappointed with the published official system requirements. They are very misleading.
So far I've put in 8.5 hours and the story is good and gunfights a blast. The stealth and hacking systems do need some work. I would suggest wait for the game to go on sale unless you are willing to make graphical sacrifices to get a steady frame rate.
I do hope CDPR can improve upon the hard work they have done with this title and the game will become more playable and enjoyable on PC.
I'm not going to talk about the bugs and crashes as I've been fortunate to not have that many on PC (maybe it's because I have an AMD card?)
Don't get this game if you think it's like the Witcher series - IT'S NOT. It's more like The Division 1&2, Borderlands, and The last 3 Assasins Creed (especially Odyssey). Here are some things that I didn't see pointed out in the other reviews :
1. DONT GET CRAFTING. It's useless. The number of materials you need is 6-10 larger than the lvl you will get. Ex: Upgrading a gun might cost 8-16 epic components (you need to dismantle 8-16 epic guns for them) and you will get a max of 6-15dmg. Crafting an epic item will always cost 1-10 LEGENDARY components (why the fuck do I need an epic item if I have 1-10 legendary ones already?)
2. Getting the ability to remove modifications from guns and clothes will cost you 14 points in crafting. How the fuck did they think anyone would get it? Making it 4-5 points would fix most of the issues with using crappy looking clothes with high stats because I can't remove the mods they have.
3. Melee combat and stealth has only ONE animation. Yes, you read that right. If you do a stealth kill you will get only one animation for the entire game; all 100+ hours of it, the same thing over and over again. Mantis Blades are even worse - if you do an instakill it will impale the NPC for 1-2 seconds (the animation). In this time ALL the other NPC's are free to shoot at you.
4. Hacking is useless: they have an AI car company but I need to find 4 numbers to hack his brain implant? GTFO
There was a rumor about a Dev playing 175+ hours and not finishing the game... I know why: he was still looking for those fuking legendary components to upgrade his "Wolf leather jacket and Black Unicorn" he got as a pre-order bonus while playing melee and looking at the same impale animation. for 45+ hours.
Where to start?
The first thing is the character-creation... Lot's of options, but not even able to choose a haircolour from a RGB-colourpalette. Can create a female character with a manly voice, but will then be bound to a maskuline pronoun, allthough looking like a playboy model. Etc, etc... Rather disappointing by the options.
Next thing you'll notice is the lack of control customization and the very awkward keymapping. Clearly not ment for PC-users and only a second thought at best it seems.
Lack of control-customization feeds right into the third issue, which is the absolutely horrific imprecise and spongy controls, which makes it absolutely impossible to position your character exactly where you want it or jump onto ledges without constantly falling down, etc, etc. The steering of cars is even worse and feels like I'm playing a 80's Atari-game.
Bugs and glitches everywhere. Not being able to pickup things, Ai running or driving into objects, floating objects, objects stuck in the ground, etc, etc, etc... Did you even once started this game on a PC for even the slightest of QC?
Graphics... Yeah, the graphics look really nice, good job. The only problem is, that noone can play this game on anything less than a $5.000 machine, if you want to get more than 5 FPS.
I cannot run this game on my 2700X, RTX2060, 16GB 3200MHz, M2.NVME above minimum settings in 1080p, if I want to get anywhere near 60FPS.
Sorry CDPR, but you had me waiting 8 years for this game and you've delivered a product that basically wants me to get rid of my PC and buy a MacBookAir instead as I don't want to play a PC-game ever again.
First of all bugs, I started game as nomad and got encounter with sheriff that told me to quack off from here, ok so I exited garage and there was in the middle of road sitting in the middle of road 2m in the air some dude that if you even look at you get wanted levels and you get shot instantly. Great start.
Interface? The quack is wrong with UI designer? I play on 32:9 ratio and NONE of the interface parts are in my view, they all are in corners designed by idiot with thinking every monitor have same aspect ratio of 16:9.
Rebinding keybinds? Nope, you have to exit game go to forums and learn to edit config file. I'm glad I didn't have to compile the game myself and link all libraries and who knows what else.
There is no police in the town. Remember those flash games where you stand in one place and enemies appear randomly on screen and you shoot them? Apparently devs thought that this is good behavior for police in game. Spawning behind you and so on. Surrendering? There is no such thing.
World is dead, there are no people walking around just soundboards with 1 button that move forward. If you stand still and do 360 slowly, you'll see different NPC everytime you take turn and if you start to spin faster you'll actually see them spawn and despawn literally next to you.
This game is a technical, UI, UX and bad port mess ALL IN ONE! Witcher 3 quality? Forget about it!
You can see that the only thing they took from witcher 3 is their garbage quality UI and very very unsatisfying ranged combat. Not that melee or stealth is good, this game is mediocre at best.
Story is as linear as it gets. They tried so hard to copy RDR2 style it's laughable at best.
Ultrawide... where do I start. When you die and load game you get stuck with 16:9 black bars on side of screen and it will stay there until you change graphical settings. UI is just clusterfuck and map and HP are like LA to NY type of distance.
The one word to sum up Cyberpunk 2077 is probably "superficial". It does have some good ideas, good bits of story, good characters and a few interesting gameplay mechanics, but all of that is hidded behind many superfluous elements that don't really add any value or present any interest. For example, the story doesn't really have any meaningful philosophy behind it - it's extremely predictable, unimaginative and sometimes boring. If you played Deus Ex HR or MD you have seen most of what Cyberpunk has to offer. In fact, it feels like Deus Ex with more content but much fewer meaningful elements. The story is way better in Deus Ex HR/MD, the gameplay makes more sense and is way more immersive in Deus Ex HR/MD.
Cyberpunk is interesting to play mostly because, well, it's a game in the genre of cyberpunk... Witcher 3 didn't offer anything new but did some things very well, Cyberpunk doesn't offer anything revolutionary or new. It's an OK game but if you played Deus Ex, you won't get anything new in principle from you experience with Cyberpunk 2077.
Perhaps the biggest problem of this game is that it has been severely, unbelievably overhyped to the point of people getting crazy and calling it a potential benchmark for the entire gaming industry which it definitely isn't and could never ever be.
