Congrats to level designers — they did a great job here!
Congrats to marketers — fanstastic work on selling the game with so awful game mechanics!
Congrats to script writers — the story is pretty good!
Congrats to Rockstar — their GTA 3 (2001) that had been developed by 23 (!) team members has better game mechanics than Cyberpunk 2077 (2020).
To all the others: especially those, who has agreed to release the game: shame on you. Game mechanics are simply bad. That's not 2020 standard for AAA projects (even indie game developers does this better!). Even for 2010s it's bad.
P.S.
"The Beast in me" missions are simply pathetic.
It's very lite on RP elements, with very little of consequences, but the game world is great.
My biggest gripe is the game being unbalanced, lacking content and being full of bugs. The background introductions are extremely short and funnel you in with everyone else in a blink of an eye. Melee box fights are totally broken, enemies turn with your dodge, hit you when they are too far away, hit you when they actually miss away. The only way to beat them sensibly is get in their face spam, and parry - given you are not taking damage for a parry/dodge like my fiancée's run is.
Cops spawning in squads right behind you is another mistery, the €$ you gain through the game is not enough by far to do anything really, buying cars and cyberware prices are just way overboard. I've finished every mission, went through all endings, and I've only bought ~6 cars (the cheap ones and one expensive), and a cyberware (legendary gorilla arms and epic mantis blades). And I barely have any money left, with at least 5 million more required to buy the items.
About endings... my point of no return is broken, it doesn't load me back into the game after "sure, just one more gig" it throws me into the main menu, hence I didn't receive any items for completing all endings but i do have the achievements at least for them.
About achievements... I actually don't have 2 achievements, The Fool and the The High Priestess - both of which are story related and just hasn't triggered. Neither did The Wandering Fool.
QoL is sorely missing, mass selling, mass disassembly, mass crafting components(!!), the store UI is extremely slow to sell items one by one and wait for a UI refresh after each. When you hack something, and you auto install a daemon, you have to click on a hex address to trigger completion.
There is so much potential in the gameplay and the game world, but in it's current released state, it is terrible, and it needs a lot of patches, this should have been released as EA or delayed again
after 20h in game doing sideqest to buff my caracter i had feeling i play shallow UBI games sidequests. Stelth gameplay is broken for me. Game like Pray or firs Deus Ex waa real cyberpunk for me. for now I'll not finish the game and will try it when GOTY version will be relised with bugs fixed. for me game is in apha stage it's not even a beta.
No joke, legit killed my Nvidia 1070 on my laptop, looked great all the way up to the crash and death of my GPU. The game was fun, inspite of the bugs, went in practically blind as I don't do social media I was relativly reasonable about my expectations of the game and in several areas it actually exceeded what I was expecting such as the graphics, was expecting a witcher 3 trailer repeat where the game looked better in the trailer then what we got at release, on top of the actual game play mechanics and story. While I would love to talk about how good the overall story was I only just got to where you meet Silverhand for the first time when the crash happened, so what I can say is this
1. My biggest disappointment with the story was that after you finish the "Prologue" of the game you get a cut scene that then dumps you out at the same point regardless of what life path you chose at the start.
2. What I was really enjoying the most was all the side stuff as there is an absolute ton of it to do such as taking down wanted gang members, hacking into super buildings and finding evidence or sometimes planting viruses, saving people from gangs trying to extort them or holding them hostage, or even doing special side jobs like subdueing people suffering from cyberpsychosis or jobs from various fixers.
3. Personally love the way the skill tree feels like it is straight from the source book, although I would have enjoyed more varity in the way skills work rather then just most of them being flat amounts or percent buffs.
4. While I will always love character creators that let you have more control over how everything looks on the face and body then this one did, I didn't hate how it was handled a soild 6/10 in terms of what you could/n't do.
5. the control scheme was a little wonky at times with how certain buttons were used for different things and could have been improved, or at least let us remap buttons.
so overall I was enjoying my time in NC but can't anymore
I already put 100+ hours into the game, and safe to say i'm really enjoying the game. And so far had no intention to stop playing yet.
It has great graphics, and run pretty well on my i5 8400 + rtx 2060, with mid-high setting.
The story is amazing, and only gets better the more i play it.
The music i s great, love the OST.
And Night City is the best thing in this game, it looks beautiful, yet also rotten and ugly, pretty much what i expected from a cyperbunk genre. The Dev really nail it.
Gameplay as a whole also good, nothing special but gets the job done. And the different build you can make is also joy to experiment. Netrunning/quickhacking being the most fun.
The driving and shooting feels good to me.
Unfortunately, no matter how i enjoy this game, there's no denying that there's a massive problem with this game.
We all already know of how much a buggy mess this game is, though fortunately i've yet to encounter any major gamebraking bugs, and had only 1 crashes so far.
My biggest dissapoinment is that this is basically just another fallout 4, it's a good game, but not a great Role Playing Game.
While the story is amazing, it's no RPG, or at least it's not a deep RPG like what i expected from CPRD.
Different dialogue choices means jackshit. And barely make any differences.
There's also the problem of the cut/missing content. I feel like CDPR lied about a lot of things. Especially looking at the 40 min gameplay demo years ago.
There's still tons of problem in this game, that would be too much to write here.
so yeah... i enjoy the game but also massively disappointed at the same time.
This is my first time pre-ordering a game, i got my money worth of it. But still i'm really dissapointed with CDPR. Lesson learned, no more pre-order for any games ever.
Hopefully CDPR will stay and keep fixing and improving the game, i'll give them a chance and see how the game is months later.
Also i hope that this shitshow is not a sign for CDPR to change for the worst.
