Ugh. I actually really like the game. I've played it once and was doing another playthrough, but 1.5 patch has totally borked it. Won't even launch. Tried a fresh install, no go.
Where is quality control with CDPR?!
Cyberpunk 2077 is still far from what was marketed but has in many aspects improved. The bugs that were more often game breaking than annoying is now more akin to the Bethesda games, fun at intervals but sometimes still bothersome.
It is still not the open world marvel that people expected, where you'd lose yourself in the intrigue of different systems, unique to this game and world. Rather it is straight forward and quick to introduce what your possibilities are in the game, which overall isn't all that much in an open world sense and repetitive.
The story itself is very engaging and very well executed. Perhaps a bit short due to the lack of “openworldness” that the game inevitably was going to have, to slow down the story progression and take it at intervals.
I've always been more of a story focused player, and don't look for all the venues that an open world game is supposed to bring. For me the game was a fantastic ride that I may one day return to, once they've added more content.
The game is, however, not the game people thought they were buying and is still not that now. But it is playable and with promises of further investment and development into the game, you can be sure that it will improve in all categories.
I really want to emphasize the game isn't without its problems, but it is an absolute amazing game. Despite the bad press it has had, the game deserves so much more - this series derseves so much more. I really want you, the consumer, to try out the game, and see the game for all the good it has to offer.
Lastly, I want YOU ,CD PROJECT RED, to believe more in your damned product! The numbers don't lie, after the launch of the netflix series, PEOPLE WANT MORE OF THIS! Your product was initially condemned because the internet was momentarily angry at you, but get this: You are done and over this, and a reboot is possible now more than ever!
2.0 introduced a ton of bugs (not worth the skill tree revamp. Downloaded 2.01, and the game now crashes on start. Nice work! Framedrops (upon entering and leaving the map screen) still unfixed, btw. Could someone please drop me a message when it's actually playable? Thx!
