The game start is great and it's very easy to get hooked to the story, but the more go deep into the game and side jobs, you start seeing more and more disgusting bugs that even make the game easier, like bosses stuck in doors or even in stairs, yes in! On some main jobs you're required to go stealth but the game force to not no, like Arasaka factory.... I stoped playing the game until all this bugs are fixed, I want the best gaming experience on the best game of the decade, but that game is not complete yet.
Game was wildly hyped up but even so I reeled in my expectations before release, from someone who never watched anything but a single 3 minute trailer(I hate spoilers of any kind), the game still flopped well below the expectations I had for it.
The game was clearly inspired to be a revolutionary mix of GTA meets Fallout/Skyrim set in a futuristic 1st person punk tech world. However it comes drastically short to reaching the quota of either of those games. The game is buggy, runs poorly and you wont see any mind blowing graphics unless you're running on the very top end of PC specs. Yesterday I had only 2 crashes in 15 hours of gameplay, today I have crashed 6 times in little more than an hour, it's not your pc, it's the game and its apparent by the inconsistencies.
Shooting feels heavy and overly loose at the same time, it's a feeling thats very hard to describe but for anyone who has played any other AAA shooter in recent years, you will notice it immediately, there are control options in game to help alleviate this to the users preference but nothing seems to make it feel "Normal".
The rpg elements of the game are again somewhat built around the fallout series, with skill trees and perks that provide various different bonuses and ways to engage enemies with your weapons and techs of choice. However the base fps aspect of the game is so bad it feels as though it hardly matters what your spec into, unless you build a heavy melee specialization. The same can be said about character customization, the game has an amazing character builder with tons of clothing and dress syles but alas you never actually get to see your custom built character in game outside of a few mirrors you run into during your playthrough.
It's all so disappointing. No unique game play elements have been added in trying to mix GTA and Fallout into one, but instead it's very noticeable a lot of the little things that immerse in you those game are missing here in Cyberpunk.
This game is unfinished in more ways than just bugs.
Driving AI is nonexistent, some quests are borderline sequence breaking on character relations, Night City doesn't even feel like a city. Graphics are good but optimization is straight up broken in some cases (like Ryzen CPUs).
It's really disheartening to know that C2077 was in development for like 8 years, that CDPR overworked their team into oblivion and the game is still in this sorry state.
When I'm able to play the game it's pretty fun and I legitimately like it. When being the key word. I do not know what causes it but the game will just randomly crash, and that assuming I can get the game to start at all. The game just randomly decides if it's gonna get past the CDPR logo or just have the screen flick black and crash hard while the music still plays. I have updated my GPU drivers, changed graphic settings but nothing changes. It doesn't even matter if I have everything on ultra or low. The only thing that changes is the frame rate. Even the in game crashes are random. I'll be running down the street, buying something, or in a dialogue cut scene, the crash knows no prejudice and will pop up whenever it pleases.
I need to stress that I really do enjoy the game but it's stability issues are making it almost unplayable at this point. As such, I cannot recommend that you pick up the game at this time.
Game feels unfinished, early-access even. Random T-pose NPCs, junky controls, some random events bugged out completely, stupid telephone calls during some tense stealth mission (and the call breaks your control, so you cannot take anybody down because F doesn't work), cars appearing out of nowhere just flying aroung the Night City.
The list can go on and on. And I am only in the beginning of the game!
I still believe that patches will fix the game eventually, but CDPR should've postponed the launch again instead of releasing this buggy thing. There won't be the second first impression anymore.
