Considering the fact that this game basically has only a solid story and really well polished graphics but was delivered rather poorly and doesn't hold a candle to the Witcher series (no really original story, not new game mechanics not a really open world ) I think it is highly overpriced (current price being 53 Euros).
This is at best a beta launch.
TL;DR - If this was free, you'd still feel robbed of your time.
Disclosure: I played 50 hours, and I believe we all owe it to ourselves to remember the promises of CDPR over the last decade. There is no reviewing Cyberpunk "on its own." All that matters is the idea of Cyberpunk that they sold us.
Gameplay: Go watch any video on Cyberpunk's flaws. A broken and boring mess. Assuming your suspension of disbelief isn't disturbed by poor performance, bugs, or simply-coded AI, it's all just so unfulfilling. Want exciting character progression? This ain't it.
Early game -> minor damage
Mid game -> more damage
Late game -> max damage
Story: When every other aspect of the game is so poorly done, no story will be good enough. As I said before, go watch any video on this topic. The illusion of choice isn't even convincing. It's painfully obvious nothing you do really changes anything. Everything is so static. A linear story presented in an open world.
Visuals: The game might have nice technologies backing it, but if that's not what I see, what does it matter? The graphics only just match bare-minimum expectations for a game that was hyped as intensely as this one was. Nothing close to what I would call revolutionary.
Promises: CDPR wants you to believe they're going to "fix" this game. I guess that depends on what you see as fixing the game. Fixing it so it is minimally functional, or fixing it so it more accurately represents the product they promised to deliver? Let's assume they made the game run flawlessly, without bugs. The game would remain a sub-par experience. I might give it a 2/5 stars.
The game is incredibly unoptimized, you would get a grainy graphic for setting the graphic to normal or low. Game is full of quest, which is a good thing, but it feels empty. NPCs are generic and buggy, including your main character. You would think this game is about adult, gun, sex base on how it advertized, but it's the complete opposite. You get no partner, and very few sex scenes. You can't even see your genital during sex, so what was the point for its customization? I regret to get any game from this company again
Even if you want to like it, after the first few hours, it becomes clear that there are some fundamental flaws to this game, which, become more obvious, the longer you play. As a laiman I would assume these flaws can't be fixed, even in the long run, because they are in the very basic mechanics. If this was released around the mid 2000's, it would've been great but right now it feels like a game, that should be priced around 20 bucks and be in early access.
The graphics are certainly good but sometimes even that doesn't apply because there are pop-ins, muddy textures etc. The role-playing aspect is more or less non-existent. Combat is extremely dull and driving mechanics are on the niveau of the stuff people program in a 7th grade computer course. Since this comes more or less from the guys who made the witcher series, one would hope, that there is at least some good storytelling and quest design but in my opinion, besides most part of the main storyline and some sidequest, the missions are comparable to games like Saints Row 2 or even worse because Saints Row fullfills certain expectations and promises but in CP it's just one dissappointment and unexpected (below-)averageness after another.
I really tried to like this game and got while it was on sale. I was neither on the hype train nor on the haters side and had the expectation to play a solid open world shooter with some rpg elements. Surely there would be some rough edges but all in all I assumed to get some entertainment and a few hours of escaping into another world out of this. I am round about 15 hours in and increasingly feel like forcing myself to play and give this just one more chance.
Besides the technical aspects I don't see how this can compete even with mediocre RPGs like Elex, Pathfinder etc. Nonwithstanding the fact, that there are games like Elden Ring, Witcher, Mass Effect, Gothic, Pillars of Eternity, Disco Elysium(!!!) and many more available for the same or considerably less money.
