Good:
- City looks nice
- Great soundtrack
Bad:
- City only looks nice. There is no depth to it
- Map filled with icons, but those feels like fillers, not proper quests and jobs like in Witcher 3
- City layout is confusing. Sometimes to get to near quest, you need drive a around a lot
- Very buggy
- Almost no RPG mechaniscs, and those which exists feel very flat. Overall feels more like looting shooter
- User Interface is made for game pads without proper version for mouse/keyboard users.
Overall this is the last game I have ordered from CDPR.
I enjoyed the game a lot with the side objectives, the environment, stories of all the characters, love the music and can tell the developers put their hearts and soul into the game.
Nevertheless, in further progression, I experienced six game breaking bugs where buttons will not work on important quests. This ranges one quest have to do brain-dance where the button to switch from visual, audio and thermal stopped working and had to reset the game. When do a non-lethal take down, the button for picking up bodies will not show up on the screen and stop working until re-load the game up from a quick save (happened four times). I had a promote to hack a terminal, but my character got teleport into another room and was unable to get out the room.
I am aware of the bugs from reading and watching a lot of reviews, the majority of the bugs I have experienced were not game breaking for me due to have played a lot of Bethesda games. Nevertheless, 50 hours into the game, the bugs became a lot worst further into side quests that started to loss its charm.
It is sad that higher ups released the game in this state. It is sad that the game breaking bugs turned a great game into a game that would rate 6.5 out of 10. When the game works, it is great, when it does not work, it ruins the immersion.
Pre-ordered the game against better judgment because i got caught up with the hype train. Played the most painful, bug ridden, glitchy, crashing experience of my life on PS4 for about 15hrs and returned. Was clear game was never meant for anything other than a supped up computer.
Aside from the technical issues my real problem is the game fails to deliver anywhere. City is empty, AI... well its nonexistent. Crafting sucks. Perks are a joke. Driving is painful. Story was... ok, not superb. No netrunning. Rudimentary hacking. All the features that were promised and either barely delivered or removed completely.
This game failed everywhere... everywhere...
Other games run 30+ FPS in 4K resolution with almost the highest graphics settings on my machine.
This game is barely playable on 720p Low setting. I don't understand why CD Projekt decided to release this game in such a poor state and destroy their good name with it.
I'll give it another try in half a year maybe. Hopefully the game will be playable by then.
