There are some neat aspects to this game, the world is huge, it looks alive.
But...
The appearance of life is very fleeting. Yes, the world is large, but I've never had that feeling of vibrancy I get from Witcher 3.
The shooting is boring, the hacking isn't up with Deus Ex. The graphics are OK, but meh.
Huge disappointment, and I certainly won't be paying for DLC.
its an entertaining game, not half bad at the moment. but the main story overall feels very lackluster and stiff. a bunch of fetch quests and going from a to b etc etc, plus the main story overall is extremely extremely short, i was suprised when i got to the last mission already. where the game truly shines is with its side quests, the writing feels much more fleshed out in general there, and the content does as well, with many side quests really pulling me into the world itself. but alas, the side quests as well feel like they end suddenly and it feels like the well dries up, romance is nice, but not really fleshed out, especially after you finish their main quests, they never really "exist" after that except for a few texts here and there is all which just feels really dry. havent really had any huge technical issues except for mods breaking whenever the game updates, which is quite the bummer since theres a handful of mods out there which generally just fix what the game lacks, atleast to a degreee with what the modders have available to work with, but thats more of an issue with the modders having to update said mods quickly i guess.
So the game had bad start but I continue to play hoping it's going to get better and it did in a way.
But the new update 2.0 is taking good features out of the game for no good reason !!!!!
Like the Ripperdocs are all the same and they dont sell anything extra like before ant this makes the search for then usless and boring so why
Also there was a Ripperdoc that was selling " TABULA E-RASA " an item that was alowing you to reset your attributes points
If you want people to have diferent caracters make a menu wher you can choose which one to play searching in savese for your caracters is not fun
It's a single player game why do you have to ruin everithing
I'm not hurting anybody if i reset my attribute point that choice was bad like really bad considering that you can't realy have multiple caracters in one game unless you want to go back 300 saves to get your caracter
I remember how excited I was when I saw the first trailer for CP2077. I didn't know what it was for but then spotted a picture of a prominent character from the original Cyber Punk pen & paper RPG. Being an enthusiastic plater of the RPG back in the 90's and early 2000s, I waited for CP2077 eagerly.
When it arrived I was impressed by the look of it - Night City was everything I could have hoped for. The mix of high tech, high rise alongside gang ridden slums hit the feel of the original game well but the mechanics of the game were a major dispointment.
What we got was a fantasy game in a scifi suit complete with magic spells and healing potions. I expected something grittier and with a shade more realism. Basically, when I shoot someone in the head with an assault rifle I expect them to die unless they're wearing serious head protection or they're full borg. Alas! combat involves bullet sponge enemies and guns which fire "rifle ammunition" or "Pistol ammunition",
Bugger that.
I wanted weaponry that used proper ammo, couldn't be upgraded with "components" found in a trash bin to suddenly do more damge. I wanted to wear a kevlar armoured jacket with my gang colours on it. I wanted to have to work to get high tech weaponry and then have difficulty keeping it supplied with the rare ammo it needed.
I wanted to buy cyber-arms, legs, eyes and customise them with armour, low light, tel;escopic vision, Targeting scopes, and thermographs. I wanted rippers, wolvers, monomolecular whips, pop-up guns, grapple fists and all the other cool stuff I got in 90s tabletop games.
And then we have Levels - the lazy way to make a game. Anyone who's played Breath of the Wild knows you don't need to have a levellable character to make a good game
. . . but the story is great.
The characters are great
It just should have been better.
So I really, really wanted to give it a fair review and not jump on to the hate wagon, but man...
Ok, so I don't have the best PC in the world, but I easily pass the minimum requirements for this game and I'm playing everything on low.
I got about 11 hours in, 6 of which I can say is actual gameplay and not replaying missions, restarting or in any other way wasting time in the game wihout actually playing it. On day 1, I ended up having about 1h gameplay and never got past character creation and even when I did the game crashed at the first cutscene and I later figured out why.
It went as a corpo and viewing myself in the mirror crashed the game. Ok, got around that and picked a different start and avoided mirrors. Well, now I'm at the part of the game after the heist and guess what? I NEED to look into a mirror. I've tried it at least 12 times and haven't been able to progress.
I'm giving 2 stars because the world itself is gorgeous and I enjoyed those few minutes I had of emersion. But for me, the game is literally unplayable. Not even going to go into detail about bugs and glitches, though my favourite one is when you're sneaking and trying to move a body, placing it on the ground gently and for whatever reason it makes a big splash of blood on the floor and catapults the body into the air where it gets stuck lol
