So much promise
I first want to say a big thank you to the team for pulling this game together and trying to do an original property - the gaming industry needs more of these instead of sequels. I've put in over 40 hours with the game and even though the game has capability to deliver a great environment it's held back by the game design itself. Some other reviews have already called out the issues that go well beyond bugs - here are some of them: No real "choices" that are unique to your character - all of the choices end up following the same path with some minor differences. The game lacks player agency - something that an RPG like this should actually offer. The open world apart from the aesthetics is dull and shallow - NPC interactions are robotic and AI in the game hardly exists. No in world random events (see red dead 2), in general the world feels lifeless. Weapons literally offer no depth or uniqueness - stock standard rifles, shotguns, handguns, etc. Borderlands offered more variety than what we have within this game. Upgrades / Enhancements - No real impact changes to the gameplay or how you actually approach different situations. Diverse approaches to accomplishing missions - Going from the last point, Deus Ex offered levels of approaches to completing missions. Cyberpunk offers two - stealth (read hack) or guns blazing. In the end, I just chose guns blazing each time due to getting tired of doing random hacks and stealth with terrible AI. CD Projekt Red deserve some praise for certain character story beats along with some of the intruiging braindance/investigative sections. Not the expansive RPG I thought we'd be getting sadly and unfortunately most of my issues with the game flow back to the design, not the bugs.
