While I loved the Witcher series, this game feels like a let down for me. Too many game companies announce their games and only show pre-rendered graphics. Being a next-gen game, I thought that was how the game would actually look. While the game looks nice, it's nowhere near what was shown and felt really misleading. The bugs are so laughably bad and distract from really getting lost in the game. I wish they would have postponed this until it was actually ready. But I suppose getting death threats from bored children didn't help with that. I'm less likely to ever pre-order a game from CDPR based on this experience.
With Witcher I became a fan of CDPR. Played all Witcher games couple of times, especially W3. Played board Witcher game, Standalone Gwent and Witcher Tales. I loved everything that CDPR threw at me, but now my attitude changed. Everything that we loved in Witcher 3 in either non existant or turned down by mile in Cyberpunk.
So a in little more details what I did/didn't like (SPOILERS):
-biggest problem was story. Where is the beginning? Did someone missed their assigment? What is the point of Jackie becoming our friend if our friendship consists of two quest and a cutscene? The ending isn't better...it's also cut too short.
-what is the reason of choosing lifepaths? to have some slightly different non story affective quest endings? yeah...very cool
-npcs...they just don't work
-police...yeah, its even more broken
-water looks awful
-some of items stats, upgrades, cyberware are glitched, buged and overall broken
-weather changes abruptly
-your car is even more broken that Roach at launch
-I don't know why everyone is so obsessed with Keanu...he isn't right for role of a rockerboy
-too little sidequests
-almost none random encounters...what happened...in W3 they were on almost every corner?
on the other side:
+some of the details are trully amazing (for example car models are more detailed, than in most driving games)
+most characters are very well written and voiced
+those few side stories are trully immersive and breathtaking
+main story is also pretty good...atleast I resonate with it more than for example RDR2 or W3 (both being better stories, but not so relatable) because you can see more similiarities with real life.
Overall when CDPR will fix all graphical and gameplay bugs this game still won't stand near Witcher 3. Thank you that you showed that even a loved and reputable game devoper can't be trusted so from this point on, no preorders...I don't know what and when something happened, but I want old CDPR back.
promised features cut, bugs, imbalanced gaming designs, lifeless city. i cannot belive this is the same dev that created Witcher.
I FEEL SORRY FOR MIKE PONDSMITH
