Please remember everyone: so far each major release of CD Project has been a bugfest in the beginning, but everytime they have invested the time and ressources to make their game a great one. Here it will be not different, in the end Cyberpunk 2077 will be a modern classic. If you have the patience, wait for a "Complete" or "Extended" edition, else have fun right away ...I do.
Spent 150h in the game. (so far)
I was blown away. Totally.
Story: 100%
Music: 100%
Action: 100%
Feeling from the playing: 100%
Played it only one time through during x-mas 2020 / Jan 2021
I have never been connected with the character like in this game. It's the way you move, you use hour body. The shooting, the headbobing, breathing, realoading, melee, agression, stealth, noise, silence.... It felt like you are really living it.
Really extraordinary thing. No matter "they" say. some people just cannot dive into the game, sceptics and so..
This game really connects to your heart. You feel sadness, joy, hatred... all the things you would in life if this happened to you.
This is a frustrating game. It's frustrating because it's on the damn steps of being a masterpiece.
The good:
- This game has a jaw-dropping open world game, Night City is wonderful and incredibly designed, I've never seen a game with such verticality, this feels like a real place in a sense I had never experienced before.
- (Main) Characters are super interesting and behave like real people. Not only this has amazing voice acting, but character animations are a work of art. Each character is filled with small details that make them seem real; a character talking about something painful? they may be shaking their leg for a few seconds while showing a very realistic face expression. It's mesmerizing how GREAT these animations are.
- Main storylines are absolutely a blast. They're super engaging and really, really well written.
- Gunplay is very fun, guns feel great, melee combat is better than most games.
- Interesting skills/perks/level up system.
The bad:
- Game is undercooked and absolutely PLAGUED with graphical glitches. Enemies may be swallowed by the floor, cars may flip in the air.
- Texture streaming probably seems like a great idea but works awfully here, you will see characters being spawned in parts sometimes, or appearing as PS1 models for a few seconds until the high-res textures finally load.
- Character pop in is the worst I've seen, NPCs spawn before your very eyes all the freaking time, it's very immersion breaking.
- Vehicle pop in is even worse! And it doesn't work sometimes, the worst immersion breaking bug I have seen is riding in Night City and all the damn streets are absolutely empty unless I stop for like 20 seconds and let the game load some cars.
- Very little variety in NPCs means you'll see crowds containing 4 or 5 instances of the same model, all one next to the other, terrible.
- Terrible NPC AI, even worse pedestrian dialogs, breaks immersion.
A lot of good, a sizeable amount of bad. Overall I still strongly recommend this game.
True, has a few bugs . I see the same npcs many times, couple of crashes though I don´t necessarily blame them, and into the second act I can`t think of much else.
Game runs smoothly on pc.
Keyboard and mouse is uncomfortable for general gameplay, but it is a fps so that is a tough one. I alternate. Inventory and skill systems are difficult to master, it is quite complex so at the beginning people might feel overwhelmed. This game has a lot of features and learning them all will take time.
So far I am greatly enjoying this game. It´s beautiful, story is compelling, gameplay is comfortable and the world itself is huge, red project did an amazing job with that, so congrats to them.
If you have the patience to learn the mechanics and can get past a few bugs, which I judge to be minor, this is one of the best games in the market at the moment, no question on that.
I had a very fun time playing cyberpunk 2077. Firstly i started playing just after the release, and true, i had no good pc for it. Though i had a great time playing it nonetheless even thogh i had like 20 fps B).
I played it, finished it and really appreciated that. The gameplay is lacking a bit, because of the lack of promises and kind of missing few concepts, but still. I played and i had fun and that's what it matters, right?
I returned to this game after i bought my new pc and hoo boy i had even better time than in the first run! Cyberpunk 2077 is not without flaws and i do get that the devs could release it a year later, but at the state it is right now, it's awesome to me and definitely worth trying. Even despite some bugs here and there.
Don't be so harsh on this game just because the devs did an oopsie. Be harsh on the devs instead!
