It's an open world Blade Runner. What more could you possibly ask for??
I've only been playing for like four hours, and there have been moments that have taken my breath away. Great characters, amazing world. And that music!
I've only encountered a couple of bugs. One forced me to restart a mission but that was it. I'm playing on a 3080 with 64 RAM. It's been running very smoothly. Having a powerful rig likely is helping, but from my experience it's not as bug riddled as I've heard.
My only complaint is the combat can feel a little wonky at times, but this and any bugs there are I feel will be tinkered on over time.
This game is AMAZING. Just make sure you have a good rig for it.
The amount of backlash this game received made me feel guilty to say that I loved it. My 1st playthrough were in the first 2 months after launch and I recently started a new one and I’m still loving it.
STORY: 10/10
The game tells a human, gritty and personal story and it was the best part of the game to me. Other RPGs usually offer more choices, but lack in terms of presentation. Here it is the opposite: the actor performances, lighting and overall mood is incredible, it looks like a well-directed movie in first-person with a few moments for you to make a choice. I highly recommend playing the side quests because some of the best moments are in those and it will greatly improve your choices towards the end.
GRAPHICS & SOUND: 9,5
There were many jaw-dropping scenes and places I've visited. Most textures look incredible, the light is spectacular (even without ray-tracing), the soundtrack is excellent and sound design is good. The city is a mixture of different cultures, technologies in a dichotomy of prosperity and poverty. It's a great interpretation of the dystopian vision from the pen & paper series. I recommend playing (if you can) with crowd density set to High, because the sheer number of NPCs will enhance the metropolis atmosphere and will make you forget for a while they are "dead" inside.
GAMEPLAY: 8,5
Combat is a lot of fun, varied and the fluid class system is quite good. But the AI can be dumb and the police system is still bad even after some patches. I don’t usually mess around with open-world mechanics outside of quests, so your mileage may vary. Also, I actually enjoyed the driving (mostly used a gamepad for this though).
PERFORMANCE: It depends
Yeah, unfortunately, this game is best enjoyable with a beefy system. If you can install it on an SSD and have the hardware to run it above 50 FPS on low to medium settings you will have a great time, and the game will still look good. And now I rarely see bugs or glitches (compared to when it launched).
Fantastic story. I love the game play. I started following the development of this game around 2015ish. While I understand some of the complaints, as a whole package CD Project Red made another masterpiece, at least in my opinion. Very excited for the DLC and multiplayer.
personally, I got only one bug during my whole play through when i did one of Judy's missions and even it wasn't a game breaker so i didnt mind that, so my game was perfect in every aspect: from the graphics to the story, to the combat, to the gameplay and the side missions. so thanks a lot CDPR for an amazing game, and for me for having a crush on Panam XD
