A historical Milestone for
the use of indirect Lightning
the texture and World building quality
Character and Story development
I wished CD PROJEKT would have labeled it as an Early Access Title
U can see the gaps and holes - yet what is there, already is definitely worth buying -fullprice
give them the Chance to make it a Masterpiece they are on the way
but what they aiming for --- needs more time than they had - from all the mistakes a developer can do it's the most forgiving one
And if by Chance any of the Dev's read this - don't crunch to much
U can't take nine Woman to create a Child in one Month
I really thought the game was fantastic. Everyone agrees the game was released undercooked but you also have to understand its not the fault of the people who put their heart and soul into it's creation.
The stories were told were really well and very impactful. You feel how the characters feel about you and one another. The voice acting and facial animations look realistic when you're immersed (and on next gen hardware sorry).
There are so many tiny strings woven through the city to find if you actually pay attention. That's why I wonder if I got the same game as everyone else? Did you guys seriously not get choaked up during the credits? No one's praising all the small details like getting ganked by the same scam artist that you infiltrated in the tutorial of the game? I just can't believe anyone that says this is a dull GTA clone.
The gunplay and melee weapons are a lot of fun. Runnin in, dumpin my clips, and switching to the sword to dispatch gonks all while dashing and jumping around was insanly fun. But I do have some cons.
There arent enough baddies! there's maybe 5-8 bad guys tops in most areas but late game. Combat phases are really fast because there are so little guys but also because they do not scale with the players level. Around level 30 I switched to very hard and with the right mods it was manageable.
The cops are completely broken. They will spawn directly behind you and in mass numbers. They also don't really chase you so evading a 4 star is as easy as driving away.
But these are both things that will be fixed. Chill choom all these complaints are petty issues that will be fixed in due time.
Buy this game. It's a fantastic dark grity world with an expansive universe behind it if you decide to delve deeper. (I got my eye out for you Morgan Blackhand)
This game truly represents a Cyberpunk universe. Both in art, gameplay and story.
The funny part is that the game's bugs and glitches kind of remind me about the 80s Cyberpunk-themed movies with out-of-sync lips so in a way, this is truly Cyberpunk.
The game could not avoid becoming another bugged game like Vampire Bloodlines and it has high chances that it'll get fixed by the community.
I truly hope CDProjekt RED will enable modding in the future.
Graphics are great
enjoyed the story
Combat is fun (feels way more responsive than e.g Skyrim, Fallout or Outer Worlds)
Level restrictions are a bit annoying (locked gear& overpowered enemies until you reach a certain level)
Overall looting, leveling and upgrading is satisfying but takes some time
Controls are mostly ok (double tapping a certain key :| ) yet someone thought to put the "fast foward" on crouch button resulting in skipping some lines when trying to get up again
Bugs:
people and cars appearing randomly in front of the player
game spawns your vehicle in walls or another care
UI elements getting stuck on screen
softlocking phonecalls
enemies clipping through walls making them unreachable
missing animation;
playing fallout 4 and skyrim made me ignorant enough for these to bother me
Played it for 120 hrs
All in all a great game, no bugs that couldnt be fixed with reloading a quicksave (make sure to press f5 frequently, trust me).
I finished this game in about 133 hours with 73% completion and want to share my opinion afterwards.
As a fan of The Witcher series and GOG as fair plattform I preordered this game long time ago with confidence - and I was not disappointed!
Of course there are a lot of technical flaws - even running it on a really fast PC (8CoreRyzen, 32GB RAM, RX5700XT, etc.). Maybe this product should have been a PC exclusive title to polish some game mechanics (e.g. clipping, NPC-AI, etc.) some more, instead of pushing it in the last stage on all plattforms at the same time (blablabla - we all know better now)...., but...:
This game gave me so many awesome hours of immersive entertainment with really nice stories in a really cool Night City area in a well designed Cyberpunk World.
And I look forward to what CD Project is making with this new CD RED Engine - if you see what the first The Witcher (not remastered!) looked like and what it became to with Witcher 3 and its brilliant DLCs with a fair price, you know what can come: So many well entertained hours of gaming fun!
Bethesda has almost ruined its FallOut franchise with 76. Maybe NewVegas2 will save some honor.
Rockstar polished their GTA/RDR engine to excellence in its current state with RDR2. But let´s see what GTA 6 will be like.
And you - CD Project - will hopefully overcome the flaws and show what you already shown before.
I believe in you.
